Obviously just a hypothetical, but many great choices that could build different storylines.

Would love to see Timmy win one more. KL will have plenty of chances.

They would all be great, but I voted Kawhi because that would really cement that he's a superstar in this league, and that's really great for the Spurs going forward.

Tim Duncan. Call me a player fan, I guess. And I have had this avatar for 8 years now.

I went with Manu fwiw

- Duncan, obvious reasons

- Kawhi, because it would be funny to see him in the same company as the greatest of greats

- Green or Diaw, because it would symbolize the Spurs equal-opportunity system in a league where the playoffs are being marketed as "Hero Ball", this year:lol..

As long as Spurs ring

But I'll go with Kawhi.

TD for obvious reasons.

Kawhi with two FMVP would be great.

Green/Diaw/Splitter is my preference though...

Realistically though, Kawhi is probably going to win it.

Parker with an outside chance..

TD slim chance.

Kawhi is the reason i became a spurs fan, so he is my obvious pick.

But It would be good for the spurs if Kawhi wins it for Officiating purposes.

So yeah I guess I would rather kawhi win it...Special treatment from refs is a huge advantage.

1. Duncan for obvious reasons

2. Kawhi to set his star status and get the ref treatment that go with it

3. parker just for the ST meltdown

4. Bobo/Green

A) i'd be good with any of them, since that means we won the championship

B) if i had to choose, i'd eliminate Kyle and Parker for the following reasons:

i) Kyle is unimportant right now, and probably will have a very minimal rotational role at best next year
ii) I really want Manu to end up with one. all members of the "big 3" should have a fMVP. an argument could have been made for Gino in 05, but would love to see him go out with a bang
iii) would always be great for Duncan to pad onto his already monstrous legacy. a finals MVP at age 39 would be fucking godly, and it would be his 4th
iv) Kawhi is the future of the team and is teetering on the edge of elite territory already. a young b2b finals MVP would really keep the spurs on the map

TD. Then he can officially become a all-time top 5 (or even better) player.

:lol Imagine the following scenario: Spurs sweeping the Cavs/Hawks with Tony, Tim and Kawhi dominating a game each and then Tony simply doesn't passing the ball to either of them just to steal FMVP honors. ST would explode.

As for the question: I'll have to go with Timmy.

Manu... to have all 3 of them get one would be really cool.

Plus, TD was the 2013 Finals MVP before they missed all the free throws, the offense rebound, and the 3-pointer.

If you are thinking about the benefit of the team in the future, you should hope for Kawhi.

Kawhi getting 2FMVP is going to be huge in terms of officiating advantage.

FMVP is far more important..Refs remember those shit. I doubt they remember a third team award.

Here's the problem we face based on each choice:

Kawhi: He moves off the ball and gets non-scripted looks much of the time. Him being the best on the team probably means balance
Manu: Manu is a bench player who plays limited minutes. If we need him to carry us in the Finals that's not good. I'd like to see him win one, but the ramifications are just too much to bear.
Tim: If Tim wins a Finals MVP, he's signing a 2 year deal. No way he retires as Finals MVP, but what a "fuck you" moment that would be: "Thanks, yeah I left it all out there, it's great it's great... yeah I'm gone.. peace out"
Tony Parker: 4 more years of heroball... SeaWorld 2.0, see the fat walrus bounce a ball longer than you want to.

Probably Danny green. He's kind of due for a major award and if he gets another ring and fmvp, then maybe we get the home town discount on his contract. Maybe.

He already has a FMVP in a year in which he was arguably the third best player on the team. No need for him to get another one of those. It's cute the first time a complimentary player gets it after that it just diminishes the award. I'd rather it go to someone fresh (especially Manu) or to deserving guys who have actually carried the Spurs this year (Kawhi, Timmy).

Would have to be TP, team leader, still getting it done despite missing a hamstring and an Achilles.
