:lmao after all these years of clowning on fans of other teams for celebrating "regular season championships" and that the regular season "doesn't mean anything", suddenly when Leonard has a nice streak here lately, they are all praising him as a superstar and tagging me in every single post about him, conveniently forgetting that this is still the regular season and it "doesn't mean anything"
lets see him put a team on his back through a playoff run. being the 4th option and simply hitting your wide open looks because no one is concerned about you does not count (aka last years "finals MVP award")
if he can prove himself and do a solid deep run while clearly being the leader of the squad, i will gladly concede. until then, he is simply a very good role player, and spurfans simply have to live with it :rollin :rollin :rollin

Leonard is a Jimmy Butler type of player. Extremely lucky he's playing under a winning system...

Spurs are primed for #6 tbh, I think only gnsfs and HH nut huggers give a shit about individual legacy or whatever at this point. All I want is 6, fuck the rest. Cory Joseph can win Finals MVP for all I care

:lol He's better than anyone on our team except for Blake. He's the best defensive player in the league and underrated on offense. His stats would look better if the Spurs' heroballing, cancerous starting PG didn't freeze him out all the time out of pure jealousy. Jimmy Butler is a scrub hiding in the Eastern Conference. Horrible comparison.

his numbers are like prime artest but with good efficiency on offense and less minutes

Lol jimmy butler.
There is no 5 without Kawhi. We wouldnt be speaking of a system right now if there was no Kawhi. The Spurs were done and boon that kid came wcsf, finals, championship and onto a repeat. Nba is fucked.

OP doesn't even make sense. We're not celebrating anything, we're just highly anticipating the playoffs because we know that's the real season. And why would you think we wouldn't know this, being fans of the most successful franchise of the last 15 years and coming fresh off a championship season? Furthermore, this is the last week of the regular season, so it might as well be the pre-playoffs. Faggot.
oh, and :lol mavs

Yeah, dude probably will never do anything significant in the post-season. Especially not against any all-star or all-nba players.

lol.. Mavfans were like celebrating Dirk fadeaways over 6'3 wing players for the last 15 yrs
He reminds me a lot more of Artest than he does Pippen, tbh
Nah no way. Maybe in the sense that they're both two way players but not in terms of their style. I don't remember Artest being able to elevate over defenders on pull-up jumpers or having a fadeaway in the post. Nigga was much bigger and was all power. Kawhi has a good mix of finesse to go with the power imo.
Dirk is the 2nd best PF of all-time.
:lmao
I felt Dirk was the 2nd best PF of all-time even before 2011.
:lmao
Beaubois has Rose's athleticism, Nash's shot and Enrique's speed+finishing ability.
:lmao
Kawhi Leonard is a Shane Battier/Tony Allen type of player.

Phillip has good takes sometimes ...and maybe he is trolling but I dont think it's way off to question KL's ability to lead a team to a title. I dont question his Finals MVP and he has been impressive lately but I dont think it's a completely unfair question. I tell you what I trust KL to step up more than I trust a breakout from "playoff Rondo". i guess espn did a feature on how brilliant young Rondo was as a kid, HS and college ...and how he only plays hard in big games ... we shall see. but local radio is holding out hope he turns the corner ...smh.
But back to KL tough for him to lead with the big 3 we wont know definitively until they are gone ...

Didnt he already prove himself in the postseason by literally taking the Spurs from 8 to 3 consecutive deep playoff runs, a ring, and a FMVP, you dumb faggot?

Stretch is trolling, but he knows Leonard is, at the very least, a star player. Every stat known to man backs that up. "Very good role players" don't have his impact on the game, as confirmed by his 3rd in RPM and 22.3 PER.

Common man it's not like rookie Kawhi had the same impact of a rookie TD. I mean the emergence of Danny, Tiago and Boris helped quite a lot in those playoff runs. It's obvious that Kawhi is the best of the four but that's no reason to take the other three guys for granted. They all played a part in the Spurs resurgence from 8

You don't watch the Spurs on a regular basis. He's been leading them this entire season and it's not even debatable tbh.

Watched maybe 20 games of Spurs ...this season hasn't led to a title yet. Already said he has been impressive lately. Come on now though early in the year Tim was the Spurs best player

leonard was having struggles early on after his eye infection... and the spurs as a whole went through some growing pains in trying to install kawhi as a primary guy. duncan was carrying the team through injuries to several players. kawhi has exploded for the past 1.5 months and is showing no signs of slowing down, plus we know he's a big stage performer
