If Danny holds up his block/steals averages for these last 4 games, he will be the 12th player in the history of the NBA to average 1 block/1 steal/40% from 3..

However, he would be only the 2nd player to do it in less than 35 MPG(joining Paul Pierce, who did it as a rookie during the lockout season), and the 1st player in NBA history to do it in less than 30 MPG(he's averaging 29, at the moment)..

Interesting. Had no idea he was averaging a whole block.

Where did you find this stat?

He already has >82 blocks and steals and would need to miss 24 straight threes to hit 40%

Yeah but Paul Pierce is ¨the trum¨ tbh.

would be a travesty if he doesn't make 2nd team.

Love watching Danny and Kawhi on D

That play last night when Danny just wouldn't give up trying to run down the break, after a turnover. He had absolutely no chance of getting there... and then he damn near got there. Just a second late, and got called for goaltending, but what an effort. At that point in the game, he didn't have to do that. I still say he's the best transition defender I've ever watched.

Completely underrated league wide. There have even been subtle improvements in his in-between game, ball handling when penetrating and finishing in the lane. I fucking love the guy, tbh.

I knew he was gonna catch the ball sad he was late.

There are certainly stats that support claims for Danny's efficiency and impact on both ends of the floor, although I'm not sure how meaningful these kinds of numbers are - random stat combinations with arbitrary cut-offs/milestones.

Video is awesome, especially that last play, shades of Bruce Bowen with the leg, but Dg how he tracks the ball with his hands and shadowsteps threw screens.... If i had a son play ball id want him to play defense like that, so quick, intelligent and aware

A term tossed around a little bit these days is "3 and D" guys, or something to that extent I think. This seemingly arbitrary stat, in DG's case, might say a lot if you put a lot of stock into the importance of such players. Obviously it's important to combine the stat knowledge with actually watching DG consistently, and we all know DG's a beast. Definitely a really cool stat IMO :toast

Hopefully the Spurs can sign him to a new deal this offseason. The Kawhi-Green tandem will be a good one for many years. Get it done RC.

I don't know who I would be more afraid to be defended by, Danny or Kawhi..

We have to keep him this summer.

What's better than Bowen? 2 Bowens.

I think "subtle" is an understatement. I'd say all of those things have become solid aspects of his game, whereas in the past they were pretty glaring weaknesses. The fact that he's improved in those areas to the point where nobody really thinks to complain about them any more is pretty damn impressive. Not many players with a definitive skill set are able to improve areas where they're weak. :tu

Where does Danny rank among SGs in the game?

1. Harden, no question

I'd say it's probably Butler in the #2 spot, with Green or Wade at the 3, and Ellis behind them.

Harden is in a different universe compared to the rest of the shitty SG position:lol

After that,

2. Butler or Thompson
3. Butler or Thompson
4. Hayward

Depends on how you feel about having chuckers like Ellis or Derozan on your team, and if Wade is worth the lack of durability/lack of impact outside of scoring..

Danny Green's transition defense in last year's finals against Miami was the best I have ever seen tbch.

There is still a quarter left and it could go haywire yet just like against Cleveland, but Danny Green's defense on Harden so far...
