With the win over the rockets the spurs won 10 games in a row. That is the fifth year in a row the spurs have had a winning streak of 10 games or more setting a new nba record. Many of those seasons they have had multiple wining streams of 10 or more. In 2011-2012 they had 3 winning streaks of this kind. The old record was 4 seasons in a row set by the spurs of course. Not sure who they passed at three years.

Related to this record it was the 16th winning streak of 10 games or more for coach pop tying the old record set for a coach by Phil Jackson.

Also the spurs with the okc win on the road guaranteed a winning record on the road for the 18th straight year. Going back to Duncan's rookie year of 1998. Unlike the 50 win streak which was snapped due to the strike of 99 this record was kept intact that year. The closest time that streak was broken? Go figure 2004-2005 the spurs were 21-20 on the road but went on to win the title. The spurs only lost 3 games at home to counteract the the road woes which was their best home record in a year.

That 11-12 team was just silly. Two new starters, Splitter and ,later, Diaw becoming rotation players and adding Captain Jack in February. Team wins 50 of its 66 games.

I was waiting for the annual 10 game streak all year long...

I swore that was their year.. They ripped through the first two rounds.
