Phillips is being investigated for murdering his cell mate in Kern Valley State Prison, according to Jason Galvin of KGET television (https://twitter.com/JGalvinKGET). According to Galvin andconfirmed by TMZ (http://www.tmz.com/2015/04/13/lawrence-phillips-ex-nfl-rb-suspected-of-killing-prison-cellmate/), Phillips is suspected of murdering Damion Soward, a 37-year-old who was serving 82 years to life for first-degree murder, on Saturday morning. Phillips is serving 31 years in prison in California for attacking his girlfriend and driving his car into three teens."
