Multiple people confirminghttp://cdncache-a.akamaihd.net/items/it/img/arrow-10x10.png (http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/) it apparently. Still not sure I believe it. But if it's true, that's fucking insane, tbh.

Lol it's practice. Those assholes are paid to make shots. If you go to a game and watch pre game warm ups, you will see they make a ton of shots in a row. But when game time comes it's completely different. Always said Curry was gonna win it, pretty pathetic to have to make his case through practice.

That is extremely impressive. Anyone who thinks otherwise clearly doesn't play basketball that often. Obviously practice isn't a game, but going 97/100 is just remarkable. Just goes to show you how much of a difference pressure/opposing defenses can make on a guy.

It's also incredible just how skilled NBA players are as a whole. Tiago Splitter never shoots outside of 7 ft, but I've seen him draining 3s in warmups like nobody's business.

DMC
04-15-2015, 03:53 PM
It's not as much pressure/defenses as it is being dialed in. If you can hit the 1st one 97% of the time you're world class already. Most people could eventually start hitting them once you get dialed in and just sit there lobbing them up.

77 threes in a row, even in practice, is impressive. Shows you the focus and the muscle memory of Spicy Curry.

I don't get why we have to hate on this. He didn't want this to be covered since it's practice. Someone just pulled out this cam phone because Steph was draining threes in an insane rate and the media picked up on it.

Why should it even be a story though? They have been playing basketball all of their lives, and now get paid to do it. They should be the best in the world. It's practice.

Shooting wide open is very easy, once you get the proper mechanics and footwork down it's simple. Knock down a few, remember what it felt like making those shots, then it becomes almost impossible to miss.

That's on ESPN and the rest of the media guys. They get to tell what's news and not.

It's practice and he's shooting from the top of the key. Should be a straight shot for anyone, but not a lot of players can make 77 in a row even in practice.

I bet you if this was Danny Green or Patty Mills there would be a semen cloud plus a number of light switch images. But since it's Steph, it's just practice and nobody cares.

Dwight Howard makes all his free throws in practice. Gametime is different.

Curry's specialty is three's, and gets paid millions to make them. He should be good at it.

So Dwight cannot bring his success in practice to the game. But we already knew that, since he's a well-known mental midget. :tu

I Don't disagree with you on this, really. But I think Steph now is paid to do more than that. Yeah he is paid to make threes, but now I think he is now paid to lead the Warriors

This. If it was Duncan it would be the Greatest player since MJ doing what great players do. But since GSW is a quasi threat and gets media coverage that the Spurs stars don't ...so everything they do is wrong. they dont celebrate or play "the right way". Probably not, I don't play basketball. I can still knock down around 80/100 3pters, especially at the top of the key, once you get into a rhythm it's almost impossible to miss. Form and technique is everything, I used to be a fucking terrible shooter, but once I learned proper form I was lights out.

Most guys have terrible form because they learned wrong.

A game is entirely different as well, there is fatigue, and movement which affects your footwork, contests affecting your release point/speed etc.

Anybody can knock down shots when wide open, regardless of age/position/size. The fundamentals can only take you so far though.

In game situations require you to remain composed, you have to create enough space, rush your release affecting your form. What separates NBA guys from non NBA guys is the ability to create space on offense. Space is basically the distance between you and the defender, how well they're able to contest your shot.

Space can be created through ball handling, crossing a guy up and forcing him off balance, leaving you open for an easy shot. Moving without the ball like Danny Green, fakes/footwork such as Duncan or Melo on the perimeter, bodily contact like Kawhi Leonard or Z-Bo, etc.

Plenty of guys such as myself, can shoot lights out, but I cannot do the other stuff that'd allow me to get my shot off during an in game situation at will like NBA guys.

I remember getting into the zone and hitting 26 in a row once, it felt awesome. 77 is pretty impressive though. Thats great he trys so hard with those wide open 3s though. It will expose him in the playoffs when he actually has a good defensive team facing him who can shut him down. Although he makes alot of ridiculous in game shots, they generally are not good shots that he takes. He takes alot of 3's to showboat around with various faggy gestures. Thats not going help them win a championship with that play style.

You don't think dramatically improved muscles help with long range shooting?

I once saw a documentary about these training methods, dramatically improves the reflexes and muscle structure of a human being. They even had a 2nd and 3rd episode, and then a few years later, the documentary was so popular that they had a remake of it, and I think they are up to the 2nd episode of the remake.

The documentary is called Spiderman, all you have to do to improve your training is to find a genetically engineered spider, and have it bite you. Everyone is using it. Jordan was bitten by a genetically engineered mosquito, that's why he can fly through the air. Kobe was bitten by a snake, a black mamba I think.

Of course, if a team is blocking your championship aspirations they are obviously unlikable. But if you take a step back and see things from a more neutral perspective, you would appreciate how the Warriors play. The most enjoyable team to watch in years.
