Most NBA players don't try that hard and are content with where they're at, which is why people with the work ethic of Jordan, Kobe, Timmy, Garnett, Dirk, etc. are so legendary. Rondo has been in the league for years now and still can't shoot a fucking FT, DWill got fat as soon as he got a new contract, Beal has had a mediocre season (although he has had injuries...), and last year's Nets team was an embarrassment.

Because he was escorted & protected by Media...until the aforementioned Sloan incident. After that he was just left to himself, he was not held to accounts for Sloan because Sloan plainly & preemptively cleared Williams. I'm sure that was at the behest of Stern in NY.. Dwill guilty. I Overrated him because of his success vs. Paul and the playoff series vs Spurs he was great that year. and the seasons around that time. One of my biggest misses I have had since I have been here.

He wasn't overrated. He under-performed. His ability and ceiling is best PG in the league, but his output is slob.
