In this artist rendering provided by Destination Grand Canyon, a glass skywalk is shown extending from the Grand Canyon. An American Indian tribe with land along the canyon is planning to build a glass-bottomed walkway that will jut out 70 feet from the canyon's edge. The skywalk, expected to open in January, is part of the Hualapai Tribe's $40 million effort to turn 1,000 acres of reservation land into a tourist destination that will also feature an Indian village and Western-themed town.

That would be cool to go on.

Yes. Until the thing breaks and you fall down to a near certain death with the snakes, scorpions, spiders, and vultures...and the occasional cannibal.

It's ugly! It's going to completely ruin the scenery. Is this for real? Come to think of it, isn't the Grand Canyon a national park? They can't build on it, can they? *runs off to research this*

I wouldn't want to be first in line, you could be one of the first to die. :lol You might want to wait until some others go before you to see if it is safe.

The CN Tower in Toronto (tallest in the world) has a glass floor like that, too. It's very spooky standing on it, especially at night.

The Grand Canyon is pretty big, a mile deep and several miles wide. You'd have to be near that location and intentionally look for it to see it.

We're all gonna die sometime, Horry. I'd much rather meet my end on an exhilarating flight (free fall) down the most awe-inspiring landscape on the face on the earth
than die a slow and boring death in some lonely sad nursing home. :sleep

As far as waiting until others go before me to see if it's safe....that's why I'm holding off on Lasik surgery.

Jelly you should get Lasik! My mom and aunt both have it and love it. I would have it but couldn't due to an infection. Boo.

but as far as that Grand Canyon thing... I love the GC...but not THAT much.

Sad but you would think an emergency doc from Texas would know to take a lot of of water on a Grand Canyon hike in August.
