Spurs in 5 at the most... Kawhi shows why he's the true alpha of the team. We need Enrique to go full hero mode and freeze him out all series long to have a chance, imho.

enrique needs to pushed the tempo...force cp3 to chase him around or get fatigue so danny/kawhi can shut him down on defense easier....

It's pretty obvious that Splitter's going to pull an Ibaka and come back mid-series, tbh. Four day rest + extra day off between Games 1 and 2 helps Splitter.

He was the best defensive big on the team by far last year, and is this year too. If his season is really done the Spurs are out in the first. Aron Baynes isn't a starting quality big.

He's the lone PnR defender the Spurs have. Plus matching up on Blake. Duncan is too slow and Baynes isnt a good defender. Plus I feel like the refs will eat Baynes alive in the playoffs.

Grizzlies were still good enough to beat flop city in 6 even though they were "in the Clippers rear-view mirror."

Clipper Nation
04-16-2015, 08:53 AM
Spurs were still good enough to sweep the Lakers (and beat Dem Bears) even though they had to face Dwight and his "consistency and effort" that would be "key in the playoffs." You know, the effort that's "always there, on both ends" making him "the type of player you want in a playoff run." Especially since he was apparently good enough to replace "Drew" and "his newly-acquired first option touches."

Spurs in 5, maybe 6

Splitter is great at defending the pick and rol but it's not like the Spurs don't have anybody else to do so. Duncan can still shut down the paint and baynes can put in some decent minutes. Diaw hasn't been playing well this year but he should be able to defend Blake in spot minutes.

The advantage though is the perimeter the Spurs have Kawhi, parker, ginobili, green and mills, and the clippers doesn't have anyone to guard any of them.

Paul is the clippers engine that allowed them to be #1 in offense this year, but green should be able to put a cap on him and still hide parker or mills on one of their horrible SGs without paying the price.

Finally, people are making a big deal of the clippers record since mid March, but their competition during the stram was horrible. The only playoff teams they beat were wiz, pelicans, Celtics, blazers and the injured Grizzlies. None of them are contenders. The only time they played a contender they lost to the Warriors.
The Spurs on the other hand beat the Mavs, Grizzlies, GSW, Hawks, Celtics, and houston twice. Two contenders and the rockets being right there as well. They only lost to the Mavs and Pelicans during this time.

Monkeyball still have little bench which will once again turn out to be costly in the playoffs imho. The Mavs - Spurs 2nd round series will last at least 6 games, and then the spurs will have the edge since game 7 will be played in San Antonio.

Clips had a piece of cake schedule. They coasted.

Spurs had more competition.

Stilll, not much to draw on.

Clips need to stop the excuses. You have the champs with hca. Time to step up. Spurs coming off 3 deep playoff runs ...can't beat Spurs now you never will.

Arcadian

:tu I agree.

I just hope Paul doesn't have a career-defining series in which he finally overcomes the Spurs. I can see it happening, but only a 10% chance.

Plus, no one is really talking about Blake. He has the potential to be the best player in the series.

"hero play" by Blake. Reddick was open feed him and get it back ...

Since I got home Clips have screwed the pooch on 4 fastbreaks or lay-ups. Spurs missed some easy ones too ...

Spurs gotta seriously look at salary dumping Parker this summer. One of my favorite Spurs ever but he's washed up.
