I agree. SA's crowd is really bad unless we're playing the Lakers or Lebron. The ones you mentioned are the top tier, while we're somewhere in the middle... Thankfully for us LAC is one of the worst, they'll give Brooklyn and Atlanta a run for their money :lol

I'm glad we're evaluating this matchup on "hungriness", Garfield the cat was an all time great, just too bad he was too short.

Clips are easy to disrupt. Paul will be shut down and no one else on that team has a clue. The only way we lose is if a scrub goes off or the refs become the go to offense for the clips.

Clips can win this series if their athletic guys are allowed to take over which might allow their skill guys to play a significant role. If we play old, slow, and stupid we can lose. Green, Leonard and hopefully Splitter, should take care of the old and slow part. Tim won't play stupid, nor will Boris. Tony and Manu need to run the team as is should be situationally.

So for our guys with fewer minutes:
Belli- Hit that 3, use that great off the ball movement and ball faking and then please... stay in front of somebody.
Baynes- Get your body on the freak and foul him before a dunk attempt. Ball fake him, reverse on him, make him look like the jump-out-gym fool he is.
Corey- If required, give Chris Paul hell, make him mad.

This Clippers team lacks so much composure we can't give them any reason to settle into a confident place. If they could actually settle down and stop barking at opponents and refs they would be worrisome.

Its it's an older crowd as well. Some of these older folks, family crowds, spend their entire income on season tickets. The days of cheaper tickets close and younger crowds are gone. Actually for being old they do a decent job at making noise. The old Hemisphere Arena was deafening. Actually unhealthy deafening. As a little one I came out of playoff games with ears aching. And we always found a way to lose.

usually that doesn't happen. I think

Umm except it wasn't the equivalent at all, since it was a regular season game, and really we had nothing on the line. The Spurs did a former coach a favor, gave the Warriors a big fella to battle with in the first round, dashed our winning streak so we didn't have to deal with that nonsense, eliminated Okc from the playoffs, avoided Dallas, and ended up facing the Clippers... Who we always beat.

And all Spurs gave up was home court advantage, which only really helps out Tony Parker.

:rolleyes yeah, Pop intented to lose

I'm just saying that last game vs the Pelicans was not a game 6 in the Wcf against the Lakers... Nowhere near the realm of equatable from an overall perspective... and the reality shows that perhaps there are more benefits for the Spurs not to have won, which of course affected their competitive subconscious.

So to draw any implications from that game, for how the Spurs will play going forward, is just nonsense imo.

Edit: I do see your point though that for the Pelicans it was do or die.... But for the Spurs it wasn't

He is really slow and done, is not something I personally enjoy because he can still make some baskets but fails setting an offensive tone, dribble dribble and some ugly ass mid-range brick made by him or some other player, the offense doesnt flow.
But the worst thing is he cant really compete against CP3, they are almost the same age but Rique looks like my 59 years old uncle.

When you're parkers age, a consistent jumper offsets your lack of speed to keep guys honest on D. His lack of developing one was always gonna be his downfall. Has it improved?...sure. some games is on, but most games it's not. That's not good enough to remain a threat offensively.

Hate to be "that guy", but the series is far from over. If we come out flat on Sunday afternoon and let them win, and it's a best-of-3 series with them having home court for 2 of those games.

That being said, I'd be pretty surprised if we lose this series at this point. We've been getting whatever we want all series on offense - it's just been a matter of actually hitting our shots. On defense, we've seem to have developed a pretty nice game plan. Mainly use Green on CP3, Kawhi on Redick, and then hide Parker on Barnes. Clippers' depth has clearly proven to be an issue, and their starters are being forced to play tons of minutes. As the series drags out, this will become more and more relevant IMO.

Also, we've yet to see a great game from Parker/Manu. Parker has been complete ass all series and is averaging 5 ppg. Manu was solid last night, but overall he hasn't been that impressive. It'd be nice if we could get some more contributions from those two.
