:lol Spurs fans that think Parker owns Paul. Tony's extremely fortunate to have played on the superior teams. Like clockwork, he chokes in the playoffs once again while Paul elevates his performance.

He's probably also the reason Splitter's calf is fucked. Splitter, as well as KY and Verde have to cover a lot of ground for his mistakes, everybody on the roster does, dude gets beat on every possession.

His terrible defense makes everyone else exert a ton of energy, Splitter has to go out on the perimeter, guard the pick and roll, challenge whoever just blew by Parker, etc. Spurs would be much fresher w/out him.

Too much dead weight on the roster.

Parker makes everything more difficult for the Spurs. The team has to play at a ridiculous level to overcome that burden. His inefficient offense is even worse because Clippers run it down our throats.

Parker was bad, but not so much for his defense. No point guard in the NBA can keep Paul in front of them. But Tony had some terrible turnovers and just couldn't hit a shot.

Yup. Look at the shooting numbers from last season's playoffs. Parker's the only rotation player that shot worse than league average(.541) in the post season:

In case anyone is wondering about the significance of this chart. If you look at the mid-range area you'll see the bulk of Tony Parker's shots. The value of those are worse the Deandre Jordan's fts. Every time he takes one it's like us hacking Jordan but a little worse.

Even the 3-point shooting isn't that impressive since he was flukishly making them before all-star break. After all-star break, he fell back down to Earth and only made 28.1% of his threes.

If we want threes play Patty tbh. No reason to have someone who consistently brings the value of Deandre Jordan's fts to the offense. At the same time he is terrible at defense.

And the $45 million extension has yet to kick in. Spurs did him a solid last year by overpaying his fat ass. He better return the favor by opting out of international ball this summer. If he chooses to play for France after the poor season he's given the fans, he deserves all the criticism in the world. Going to look even worse for him if Chris Paul continues to destroy him in the first round.

I remember the days when the first play of the game, without fail was a Kawhi post-up. When he was fed early and got us an early lead. When he would end up with 20+ in ~25 mins en route to a dominant team performance.

I wonder why they decided to go away from that in favor of dribble dribble dribble?

Along with Boris and Green, he was one of our worst players last night. The criticism is justified. He was complete dogshit and sank the team any time he was on the court. He had a 79 ORtg last night. Chris Paul was at 135 ORtg. One of these guys knew how to run a proper offense. The other didn't.

Let me criticize Parker like a normal person: he looked slow, he was hesitant, those nagging injuries and the clippers aggressive defense really took its toll on him. I'd like to see the offense open up more but the lack of good ball handlers is apparent when Tony is off and the other team is aggressive on
defense.

It could be special effects. My other theory is that tonight he put on a prosthetic ankle/foot to start the game. Then he activated the "roll/twist" function so we could see it on TV. That way he would have an excuse if he played bad, which he did. Sometimes he coordinates with the FSSW/TNT/ESPN effects department to fake his injuries (in a way that we can see them "happen" live of course), but tonight I'm pretty sure he used the prosthetic method.

Everytime he shits the bed its a sore something with this guy. Last year it was a sore ankle vs OKC, in '13 his ankle was bothering, I'm sure there was an excuse for his '12 collapse, he had the flu when Kerr bailed him out in '03, etc. It's like he's superhuman and never plays bad unless he's injured. :lol

Yup, Doc played Blake 43 min, Redick 36, Paul and Jordan 38. No clipper bench player played over 20 min except for Crawford at 23. Clippers going all out right now but could catch up to them when the games go every other day. Especially in game 5 when they come back to LA.

in the grand scheme of things I'm not sure that it matters who wins or loses the series. Judging by the way both teams played last night, I'm not sure they could beat the next level. What? Tony went for 20/7/4/1 through the '12 playoffs. How is that a collapse? Are you joking? Duncan was the next closest Spurs in terms of scoring and was still several PPG behind Parker. Ginobili was the next closest Spur in facilitating with several less APG than Parker. Then next biggest contributor was Jackson or Leonard and neither of those guys even averaged 9 PPG in the playoffs.

Maybe if people stopped chasing them around and posting in nearly all of their threads they would stop. Obviously, attention is the name of the game, so why continue to complain post in every thread? How about people actually contribute actual basketball discussion?

While people's opinions may differ on this, I find the constant "defensive posts" no different than the spam threads they are in. Both incredibly annoying and of no value. In fact, I blame the tail chasers even more because they are the sole reason why people make the spam threads in the first place - attention and ruffling of feathers.

Quit complaining and following them around and contribute something postive. If you took away those people's "anti-spam" posts, there would be nothing left. It's sad when you have both spam threads and whining posts about those threads. Ignore them like a normal adult, contribute to the basketball talk or leave. What's the point of just complaining about everything?

I disagree. The reason there are more threads is because the anti-spam post not only bump the threads up, but give the fire the fuel it needs to keep buring. If it didn't ruffle feathers, it wouldn't happen any more. But, they start a thread, people come running (despite not posting anything of value in other threads) and then they laugh and laugh (even if it's stupid).

I'm honestly not trying to be obtuse, but I don't understand what this statement means.

Tony played poorly but I don't think you can blame him for Kiwi playing like a retard. The player who single-handedly throttled the Warriors in one regular season game was reduced to a mere spectator in Game 1

Kawhi's net effect was an astounding -21 while Parker was bad as well but he was at -12. That means the Clippers were ALWAYS winning when Kawhi was on the floor. Oh and he also had 4 turnovers to compound the astounding -21.

Cojo was the next at -18 but he's not a Finals MVP like Kiwi.

I do, faggot, hand-in-hand with actually watching the game. Kawhi's plus minus rating wasn't deceiving. He played poorly as you can imagine Tony did.

smh some people are so mindboggling stupid tbh

Did it occur to you that the reason Kiwi was reduced to a mere spectator was because Pop insists on running the offense through Enrique? Kiwi's job is to stand in the corner while Enrique does his dribble dribble dribble or plays his two man game with Timmy.

Basketball isn't an offense-only game. He wasn't doing anything on defense either, even though he had four steals. The Clippers had their way on the Spurs; they shot 51 from the field and 55 from three.

Maybe he was less motivated to play defense because of Tony but it's the playoffs and it's a pussy and unprofessional move to sulk and take a break on defense because your point guard isn't giving you the basketball.

I guess a Lakers fan wouldn't know anything about that since Kome always gets the ball.

Oh and tell us more about Parkers contributions last night.

It's strange behavior, tbh..it's like a toddler screaming and not listening to his mother: "nananananana I can't hear you!! blah blah blah"

These guys are speaking the truth about Parker? "ahhhhh I can't hear you!! this isn't happening!!!"

Man, the Manu hate was levels worse than this in 2013, and Manu fans barely complained..
