View Full Version : Pop Proclaiming Seeding Doesn't Matter Gonna' Bite Him in the A-- This Time

I bet he wishes he had gone all in the last game of the season for the second seed...

I know we usually lose Game One of a Series (well, at least until 2012), but this looks bad. HCA MATTERS no matter what Pop says. We are in trouble.

I don't know why he would tempt the gods... Why? After a season like this? Ugh.

Did you even watch the Spurs this season? Pop did everything he could do win games this year. He rested way less than in previous years. He was obviously trying to go for the highest seed.

The Spurs laid an egg in the last game of the season, but I suppose some folks weren't paying attention to the 11 games before that. Pop didn't want a 6 seed. We finished 5 games ahead of Dallas. He could have rested half the squad the last week and a half of the year and still been the 6 seed.

But what are you going to say if you're the coach..."Well, I guess we're screwed now!" Of course you're going to downplay the seeding and say it doesn't matter.

Now the Spurs have to get a little mojo back and win it like men.

He downplayed it but was way too cocky. The Fates will not be happy about that.

Of course HCA would've been nice, but we laid too many eggs throughout the season. That's history now.

We're playing against the Clippers and we can still beat them and move on. That's all that matters.

You didn't learn anything from being a pussy and quitting on the team when we were down against Dallas last playoffs, tbh? :lol

No, of course not. What kind of question is that? There are people here who start giving up on the team during the first quarter of the first game of the preseason. There will always be cliff jumpers.

The Spurs have a losing record away from home. Period. Reference my post above again and think it over. They don't win in away games as a franchise and certainly not this year against their potential opponent group.

If Spurs play Spurs basketball they're generally the best team in the world. If we look sluggish and turn the ball over and shots aren't falling, it doesn't matter if we're playing in the Alamodome, the HemisFair Arena, or AT&T. We're not fooling anybody.

Game 2 won't decide the series, but it'll tell you a lot about what's going to happen.

It doesnt matter. Do you want to play at home, yes. If you're relying on HCA to "put you over the edge" then you probably have no business winning a ring. Great teams win at home or on the road.

Spurs played like shit game one. They will not shoot that poorly from the FT line and 3pt line in the same game again.

Spurs in 5

If you want to win it all, you gotta win on the road. There's no other way around it. Relying solely on home games to win series is a loser approach and won't get you anywhere. You gotta win road games.

Yes, but you don't have to win as many with HCA.

Yes, but you don't have to win as many with HCA.

But if you are a great road team like the Spurs (don't look to this year as injuries derailed them) winning on the road early gives you that psychological edge in a series off the bat. Just look at the frustration the Clippers exhibited in losing this game.

Having the worst point guard in the NBA hurt them more than not having homecourt. Yeah, with homecourt they would have made it past the first round but Enrique's cancerous impact was going to sink them sooner or later. There is no team in NBA history that can win a title with 2015 Tony Parker receiving 30 mpg.

Dude, I was one of the biggest supporters of homecourt. I know how important it is. I was extremely pissed when they fell from 2nd to 6th to close the season. But after watching Enrique in the first round - the guy is hopeless. No way we can overcome a cancer playing THAT badly. TP is clearly done. Reason we were able to overcome Parker's shittyness last year was Manu having a comeback season and healthy Splitter. We had neither in these playoffs. Pop also looks like he checked out a while ago.
