How can the same exact team as last year just start sucking on the road the very next season?
How does that happen?

No drive after redemption + injuries. Pretty much it.

tired legs. 3 straight seasons of > 95 games per season
tired mentally. no motivation to keep winning. full stomachs, no hunger
tired of basketball.

They got everybodys A game, plus motivation, plus lack of hunger, plus injuries.
But we've shown that we can win on the road beating teams like Atlanta, Houston, Thunder and Warriors. Yeah warriors game was early but i bet if we played them @ Golden State instead of in San Antonio during the winning streak we would've won that as well.

Bench struggled all season for various reasons. Role players typically play better at home, and the Spurs were damn near down to role players only.

Seems to me like it's the role players who have struggled on the road this season.
Last season they did great.
How do role players play clutch, elite, win their first title, v then all of a sudden lose their ability to hit shots on the road.
Most our role players are young, too
I don't buy the tired legs no hunger story
I don't think we are the same team as last year. We had a lot of guys that were playing great basketball at the same time. It was a perfect storm. Right now, we have guys that are not playing their best basketball, and collectively we are suffering for it.

Health, drive and confidence.
Danny Green shoots 12% worse from 3 on the road

Laziness. I love most of the players on our roster but sometimes this team can be so freaking lazy sometimes...
Our road record would be better, I'm sure, if we didn't have significant injuries at the beginning of the year and throughout the year to Leonard, Parker, Mills, and Splitter. Those are some major cogs to be without. We were getting killed with Leonard out as we have no real back up small forward. If we had had better health, our road record would be better. Losing to the Clippers on the road, however, doesn't make the Spurs a bad road team. The Clippers are a great home team and tough to beat in their building. I don't doubt the Spurs gave a good effort, but I also don't doubt that they can take their games up a few levels.
