well, well I hope Presti is taking some heat as well. Brooks wasnt a good coach but Presti has been shaky outside of the Harden/Wesbrook picks ... and he traded Harden. My guess if Portland had done the right thing OKC would have been the one watching Oden's knee implode every year.

I know he is supposed to be some kind of genius ... but I havent seen that. he drafted well when he had lottery picks, that's about it.

Presti was the luckiest guy in the NBA in 2007 when he had the second pick in a two man draft. All he had to do was select the guy that Portland didn't pick. The Harden and Westbrook picks were good, but trading Harden and keeping Brooks this long aren't genius level moves. Add never being able to convince ownership to open their wallets and giving up future first round picks for the likes of Waiters and Kanter and his record starts to look decidedly average.

Really though, they can hire whoever, won't stop them from running Westbrook and Durant into the ground.

Wouldn't surprise me if they go with somebody like Mike D'Antoni, tbh... but, ultimately, this might be about letting KD pick the next coach so he sticks around...

Brooks wasn't the one who didn't allocate enough funds to keep Harden and destroy their title chances.

Good move but Presti ain't much better.

Came about three years too late. The Thunder could have had a title by now if Brooks was replaced by a good coach.

Now though, Durant's health is uncertain, Harden is gone, Ibaka has been figured out, cap space is getting more and more limited because the rookie contracts are over, and Westbrook has developed tonnes of bad habits, I don't see the Thunder being a title favourite, or even a serious contender, even with a good coach.

:lol How sad is Phil right now that he's stuck with the Knicks? This would be a dream scenario for him. Two superstars to prop up his legacy and make people forget that when he doesn't have a team that is beyond loaded with talent he can't win shit, plus he could claim credit for being a mentor/psychologist to control Russell when he turns into an 8 year old on the court (so, about every 3 or 4 games). :lol

Presti drafted Serge Ibaka and Reggie Jackson with late firsts, I don't know how that isn't drafting well. It's not his fault the cheap ass owner made him lowball and then salary dump Harden.

Sad news for the WC though. I was hoping for another year of Scotty and then bidding Durant farewell to go East to Washington or Miami next summer. Probably still happens anyways though. :toast

Win/win if you dont like the Thunder

Lose/lose if you are a thunder fan.

Thought Scott did pretty well with what he had. Not his fault his players were full of betas and choke artists.

Brooks was complicit in Russell's maniacal path of self promotion. He allowed the Thunder to become a caricature of it's former self, a running joke. No he didn't cause the injuries, but he stopped coaching long ago. He's been a high paid spectator.
