Foreskin Facial
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/04/10/baby-foreskin-facial_n_7040808.htmlIs Baby Foreskin The Key To Youthful Skin?
There's a reason anti-aging (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/news/anti-aging/) products and services is a multi-billion dollar industry (http://www.marketwatch.com/story/10-things-the-anti-aging-industry-wont-tell-you-2014-02-11). Many women and men are willing to try just about anything in order to achieve a more youthful appearance, even if that involves unconventional methods (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/04/01/snail-facial-skincare-treatment_n_5064790.html).
The latest? HydraFacial (http://www.hydrafacial.com/), a facial treatment that uses baby foreskin to fight acne, treat hyper-pigmentation and reduce wrinkles. Sounds out there, but The Cut's associate beauty editor Ashley Weatherford decided to give it a try (http://nymag.com/next/2015/03/can-a-babys-foreskin-give-you-youthful-skin.html).
"I didn't really know exactly what I was walking into. I had this sort of vision of maybe like chunks of skin floating around in a solution, which is totally gross. But it was really nothing like that," she told HuffPost Live host Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani.
The use of an infant's foreskin isn't new to the skincare industry, as Oprah Winfrey previously faced criticism for endorsing a face cream (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/12/oprah-foreskin-protests-cream_n_3068851.html) derived from human foreskin. Researchers have found that it promotes skin cell regeneration when applied topically (http://nymag.com/next/2015/03/can-a-babys-foreskin-give-you-youthful-skin.html). And as Weatherford learned, the growth factors obtained from the foreskin for the HydraFacial is "at a microscopic level." So no huge chunks!
Watch the video clip above to find out exactly what happens during a HydraFacial treatment and how long results typically last.
