I visited 3 of the 4 major shelters in San Antonio and I must say I was quite impressed with what I saw as far as what they are setting up and what they have set up. I helped set up a barber shop in the Windsor location. I should have taken a video camera to record what I saw so that I could send it to Kanye West. He really has no clue. On a positive note, Malik Rose donated truck-loads of stuff.

Hey I just might. It's a definite reality check. It sure shows you what you take for granted in this life.

Check out these threads by Spurfect about the work she's been doing at the Shelters in Houston.

It's very interesting reading.

Texans have been wonderful. There are an estimated 230,000 victims of Hurricane Katrina scattered throughout cities, towns, and municipalities in Texas, including and estimated 25,000 in facilities spread out in San Antonio.

The local Red Cross would like people to know that they have enough clothing to go around for now, but they are in need of toiletries, personal hygiene products, African American hair car products, industrial sized canned food, and other non-perishable products. Money is, of course, always accepted. If you can help contact the national Red Cross number 1-800-HELP-NOW.
