"He's a consummate pro," Rivers told Yahoo Sports. "He never gets too high or low. It's like he's the easy button they have on that old [Staples] commercial. He's their easy button. You knew tonight he was going to come and play. On nights where they don't need him, he's cool with that, too."

I must have missed where Magic Johnson and Pat Riley won a 5th title together to put them in the same category of greatness as Duncan/Pop already.

I can't imagine the NBA without the godfather. Spur fans know how much he will be missed, unfortunately the rest of the NBA won't realize what he's done for the game and how great he is until he's gone. The greatest and least appreciated player of his generation. A true legend of legends.

It was fun to see Tim with six or so seconds left, about to inbound the ball, just sitting on scorer's table with his hands in his lap, swinging his legs, waiting for the ref.

Looked like he was at a picnic--not a down-to-the-wire playoff game.

Got to confess that I was damn worried when Timmy was the one to inbound the ball on the last play.

I think including the preseason opener, Timmy had 3 or 4 Turnobili moment on the last inbound play.

Beautiful play. Timmeh stuffs the ball in Griffin's face then stuffs Griffin's body into the hardwood. Boom.

Yeah, but will he get an endorsement? Rings are nice, but compared to a snazzy Kia commercial....

The whole Clippers team are about to drive their Kia off the deck of an aircraft carrier and find what their limitations are.

I really hope Timmy moves into coaching. It'll suck not seeing him on the sideline at least.

Please be a coach Timmy, learn behind Pop/Messina (or whoever's the head coach after Pop retires) and take over when they're done. You're 25 and 15 years younger than them respectfully. He could have a long great career as a coach.

I think Tim will take on a Hakeem role with the Spurs. He will be there to mentor the young guys, but I don't see him wanting to travel bc his kids. I see him retiring next year and taking it easy for the next 4 to 5 years. Maybe then he might consider a more serious role.

You don't really get a good view of it in this video, but it was amazing how he fought off Jordan with his off arm as he went up and blocked Griffin. Amazing!

I wonder if Tim would ever consider doing work on TNT or ESPN. That would be crazy to see Tim and Kobe doing the ESPN haltime shows together in a couple of years.

NOt that he needs the money, but a local grocery store commercial doesn't pay shit compared to a national advertising campaign with a budget that simulates an aircraft carrier. The question is why he hasn't ever got one of the national ad campaigns. Maybe he just doesn't care and is happy to anchor the local ads that pay his teammates some cash.

I was listening to Colin Cowherd this morning at work, and he and Tom Penn both said that it's not far-fetched to call Tim Duncan a top 3 all-time player. They claimed that MJ and Kareem are the only ones they would have ahead of Tim. TP also said that Tim was the best player on the court for both teams last night. It's good to see Tim Duncan getting some love from ESPN.

when you say campaign, i don't know if you mean like a multi-commercial series of ads, but he's done american express, foot locker, and edge shave gel commercials. its been a good long while since he's done anything more than HEB ads though.
