The Dallas Mavericks (http://espn.go.com/nba/team/_/name/dal/dallas-mavericks) opted not to give departed point guard Rajon Rondo (http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/3026/rajon-rondo) a playoff share, sources said.

Rondo, who was acquired by the Mavericks in a blockbuster trade in December, left the team after the first two games of their first-round playoff series against Houston. The Mavs announced that Rondo had suffered a back injury, but a source told ESPNDallas.com that the team and Rondo actually reached a mutual decision to go their separate ways after he played only 9 minutes and 55 seconds in Dallas' Game 2 loss.

The other 14 players on the roster evenly divided $208,940, which is awarded to teams that lose in the first round of the playoffs. Houston beat Dallas in five games in the best-of-seven series.

Players determine how the team's playoff shares are divided. The players did not vote to exclude Rondo, the source said. They were simply presented with a list that did not include him, and there were no objections.

Rondo will become a free agent this summer. Coach Rick Carlisle has made it clear that he does not expect Rondo to return to Dallas.

:lol I was telling my cousin who happens to a be a Laker fan that he doesn't want Rondo, and I gave him a rundown. But all he cares is that Rondo is a name, and he actually believes that Rondo is elite. I hope you don't feel the same my Hawk Brethren

Edit: Didn't see your post above, just responded to the actual post itself. Glad you don't want him.

This draft though....11 picks!

We have a pretty good PG that I would like to develop in Clarkson. I would like to see what Randle can bring to the table and break out my Kobe jersey one last time and say au revoir to him. If we have to suck for another op 5 pick, so be it. I'll be watching the Seahawks' redemption story fold out.

He pulled the ":cry I can't play basketball because of my sick daughter" card, got bought out, then signed with OKC like 2 weeks later.

I'm proud to say that the Mavs game I saw where he was in uniform, I loudly booed him every time he touched the ball, which confused everyone around me since I was obviously rooting for Dallas.

Easy. Rondo for Mavs.

Jeff was disappointment, but he wasn't a cancer.

.4 aside that is the time when he kept pulling that crap that I really could not stand that guy anymore. He just wanted to go to a front runner each time, he pulled that crap in Utah to get out as well. I was so happy to retire that bastard last year with a loss.

I hate Rondo because he talked shit to Chris Paul about not having a ring the year after the Celtics won, even though he wasn't even the fourth best player on the championship winning team.

Well, being that Rondo quit on his team faster than anyone else I have ever seen, including most of the 98 Pistons, Jazz Boozer, Cavs last Cavs stint LeBron, 06 Billups, and pre Pau Kobe, I'd say this is fair...

I thought it beneath contempt. Their rank & file never held The Cubes accountable for his categorical refusal to defend their Title.
