That is how bad the Spurs' bench outscored the Clippers' bench tonight.

So what does this portend? Good sign? Bad sign?

Bench scoring was supposed to be the Spurs' ace in the hole . . .

Ferrari was in full force.. Going to be sad when all the euro's leave pop in the offseason. He might actually start to care when he has to field a team full of bonners and Kawhi

Yep, heads call him out all year long and he has showed up when his number is called and wanted it tonight but nobody wanted to trip with him (Besides Boris).

Our bench has been bailing us out all series.... and it's not only because their bench sucks, because they also play Blake or Paul with their bench...

It's because Tony, Danny and Tiago have had an absolutely putrid series offensively...

It just goes to show how superior their starters are compared to ours.

This portends that our starters are easily intimidated chokers.

Deandre Jordan has wrecked the psyches of our starters. Doesn't matter that he sucks ass at freethrows.

diaw/mills have been outplaying splitter/parker pretty regularly... and Green's shooting has been killing us, whereas marco has been consistent on that end.

Green still needs his minutes for defensive purposes, but it's putting a strain on the team

Tiago is struggling
Parker is struggling
Green is struggling because Parker is struggling

Thats 3/5 of your starters not playing well

It means what I said before the series started: We have a gimpy center and a gimpy PG. Danny Green cannot get his looks because our center isn't a real threat, hell he cannot even move up and down the court without limping and dragging his ass. Our PG cannot move the ball and cannot attack the rim. That means no one has to collapse on defense so they can stay at home on shooters. That would be Danny. Danny has to be wide open to get going. Miami shut him down on command after Tony dropped a dime on him (only dime he dropped all series as I recall).

they are outplaying us in every position except SF from starters. As great as duncan has been playing, blake is having a better series, kawai is destroying barnes, reddick is playing better than green, jordan is dominating splitter and let's not even mention parker and paul comparison. For them to be outplaying us in 4 of 5 positions and all of these games are close is saying a lot. The only thing keeping us in it is that our bench is far superior to theirs

Bellineli and Mills should be starting. Green is starting mainly for defense, but he hasn't bee dong shit all series(though he had a good poke away and block on griffin tonight). If he's not gonna lock down guys and play hard like he has in the past, we may as well start Bellineli. At least he can provide offense(something green has NOT been able to do).

I guess you're okay with Paul going off when they get Marco switched into him or while Patty tries to guard him. They're both nice in stretches, but can't play the majority of the minutes.

If any consolation from tonight, Splitter was much better than in prior games. His missed FTs killed us, but his D, rebounding and chemistry on the PnR is improving and let's Pop keep to a three big rotation. It's not Tiago from last postseason but he's playable as the third big.

Clips main guys played a ton of minutes and surprisingly only Kawhi played big minutes tonight. Hopefully they have enough legs to win a third on the road. No Big Baby is a huge hit - if it doesn't bite Clips in Game 7, they better hope Hawes starts earning his paycheck. Interesting to see what Doc does with his rotations / when Jordan is getting hacked.

Paul has gone off regardless, Green and Parker have been shit the majority of this series on both sides of the ball. There's a reason why the Spurs are always down when the bench comes in and why they usually have a lead when the bench comes out. And the Clips have been playing their starters against the Spurs bench plenty. Mills and Marco can hang. No doubt in my mind.

paul goes off regardless of who's guarding him. but at least mills and bellineli offers some offense. if he's killing ALL of them and the 2 starters aren't scoring, then why not play the bench players who are actually scoring?

This x 1000. Since Flop is getting his regardless who's guarding him, might as well have a shitty defender who can at least hold his own on offense. Just like in the 2nd quarter, once our offense got going it, got the Clippers out of synch on the offensive side of the ball, which is something that Parker & Green can't contribute in atm.Wasn't until Pop decided to shit on our momentum that the Clips began to claw back into the game...

This is like durant in OKC. He is going to get his. Not even Kawhi can stop him. When Kawhi was put on westbrook, we started wrecking them. CP3 is doing the same. Put kawhi on someone else pop.

Your 2014 NBA Champions Spurs starters had only 2 players in double figures, 12 pts.

Clips had 4 starters with 15 or more pts.

Clips +10 FT pts. both team missed 9 FTs, but clips had +10 FTA

Spurs starters just flat out sucked.

In spite of the winning streak up to the NOR game, the wins were ugly, not impressive. Spurs just don't have it this year. Clips are the better team, and will finish the Spurs off Sunday.

Exactly! It means our starters, especially Danny Green, Tiago Splitter and Tony Parker have sucked. Kawhi was awful last night. Pop was horrible and misused Duncan even. Throw the bench scoring out the window as a major advantage. Well, they are the reason the Spurs didn't lose by 30 last night.

Great Sign!!!

Now Pop needs to bench Parker's ass for game 7. My goodness, why does he continue to have him out there for 30 minutes a night. He is stagnating the Spurs offense and his defense is atrocious by the 3rd quarter.

Parker trying to tough it doesn't show me he is a fighter but more that he is too proud to let Mills lead the Spurs to victory in this series.

The starters sucked ass tonight outside of Tim Duncan. Kawhi had one of his worst games offensively. It was beyond frustrating, he has a good offensive skill set but made horrible decisions. Green fucking sucked, Tiago was pretty awful. It was terrible.

And as for the OPs question. It isn't really a sign of anything. It just means the bench played really well this game. Each game has really been it's own entity, there's no momentum or consistency from either team. What happened in games 1-6 really doesn't have much bearing on game 7. It's one game, win or go home. Besides injuries nothing in prior games has an effect. Just my honest opinion.

Danny hasn't gotten into a rhythm because he's forcing his shots. He's got that "just get one up" mentality. Still, his shots aren't coming in the normal flow of the offense. Sure some are, but most of them he's trying to create and he cannot even put the ball on the floor without turning it over.

Or properly use Hack-A when the Clips are going off, not when you're up 9 and building momentum at home and then take crowd out of the game. Or use it to extend the game. If Spurs are down with under 2 minutes to go, they're pretty much toast given how good the Clips are at knocking down freebies outside of DJ.

Green is a zero on the offensive end right now and I cringe each time he takes a jumper. While his scoring has improved a bit, the ball stops with Parker and crappy offense can be pointed at him + ISO ball.
