...we should put an * next to their 2014 NBA title. I can't think of one defending champion, with all their key players healthy, losing a game 7 in the first round the very next year. :rollin :lmao :rollin
1999*
2003 **
2007 ***
2014 ****
* 50 game season
** Shaq was 5,000lbs
*** Horry's hip check
**** lost to the fucken Clippers in the first round as a defending champion

As absurd as it was for Col. Sanders to say it, at least an asterisk made sense for the 1999 Spurs. You're grasping at straws here.

It never made sense it was an even playing field same rules for every team.

3 + 3 = 9 makes more sense than 2 + 1 = 382, is that what you're saying?
Rise above the noise, OP. You've never done so.

Results from neither. The rings result from winning 16 games in the post season, or however many there were at that time.

should put an asterisk to the 02 lakers for getting their asses handed by a homo in 03 and getting a break against the kings in the wcf
Should put an asterisk for 2010 for getting swept by a nazi the following year that never won shit at the time and perkins tearing his acl
asterisk for 2009 for going against that mental midget dwert who only got that far for fluke monkeyballing
asterisk for 2001 for going against iverson and iverson alone in the finals
I mean shit. You can make an asterisk for every title team.

No, the Rockets rings don't count apparently because Jordan was suspen--I mean, "retired" in 1994 and certainly didn't play or put up 50+ points in 1995.

Don't know how Lakers fans can talk shit. Kirby missed the playoffs in back-to-back years, playing at historically bad levels. I don't think any other all time great has ever missed the playoffs twice in a row. Kobe's legacy is pretty much deep fried.

But missing the playoffs twice in a row negates all that. No all time great should miss the playoffs twice in a row. Even an aids riddled magic took a bad Lakers team to the playoffs.
