Spurs go from champions last year, to a team that is clearly not a contender. Massive fall off from last year. Yet, we had a reasonable chance to advance beyond this round, if not for the tendency to choke under pressure. So, we end up with a championship bookended by a couple of pathetic chokes.

It was a 2 point game that came down to a shot with 1 second left, basically any sequence turning out different would have changed the game lol. Duncan fouling CP3, Kawhi missing those shots, Diaw's hand being 1 inch lower to block Crawford's layup, etc.

It was close because the Spurs outplayed the Clippers most of the night, Barnes/Reddick and Paul showed up and knocked down huge 3s. If it wasnt for uncharactersitic mistakes by the Spurs, they win in double digit but the Clippers, it might be their time right now

Like I said, low IQ player. Has no clue how to control the pace of a game. All that fuck knows how to do is dribble until he can shoot. My recliner is damaged after that possession
It's the best thing that could have happened. Imagine Tony does well this game but the Spurs lose a close one. Tony is now back at the forefront in Pop's mind. Right now Pop and RC know that Tony cannot lead the offense on this team if Tim walks away. Oh he can, but right to the lottery.
At least i can look forward to May without worrying about the next series. Now I can enjoy the playoffs, see if Curry is what I think he might be.. stay tuned.

I did as well, they stayed in it and took the lead late even. I hate GAME 7 road games man, from 013 to this one. This was a tough loss tonight. This series was one of the best I have seen in a while but they came up a little short on that end. I am glad they won that #5 all in all, this one hurts but the overall body of work is satisfying.
I think that floater is a shot Parker would have made 1-2 years ago. I don't fault him for taking that shot... I fault him for mentally and physically regressing so badly this season.
Parker really needs to understand the Spurs offense lives and dies with him. Hopefully he gets back to shape and shows this abomination of a season is fixable. He needs to be effective enough to be a diversion so shooters get open looks. But things don't look good. With Ginobili most likely retiring, the Spurs will lose a playmaker. Without his speed, Parker is just a below average point guard in a league full of talented PGs.

Considering we usually see things the same way, I'm surprised you got sucked in. I never thought the Spurs were going to win, no matter how 50/50 it seemed.
As for the play you're referring to, you could debate it either way. He did get a clean look at a floater, with only Redick even semi-close. I'm not going to lay this at his feet. Sometimes these things are seemingly inevitable, no matter what you do and this one always felt that way to me.

Doesn't hurt at all. Spurs were banged up man! And they still took it to the clippers.
As long as we kicked Dwade and Lebron's ass, I'm a happy camper.
Hopefully we can land Gasol his offseason if Duncan takes a paycut.
Patty Mills needed to be in the game at the end. No question about it. It was infuriating watching Tony attack the basket against 2-3 defenders, only to get stuffed or miss badly.

The play calling/execution out of timeouts was worse this season than any I can remember and flat out atrocious in the playoffs. It's as if they turned into the Raptors overnight.
It was also a season of bad luck. I can't recall seeing more high degree of difficult buzzer beaters and it burned them again tonight, though I blame them on some of the Paul ones. The guy has a messed up hamstring and instead of making him create, they allow him to step into wide open threes.

Tony was NEVER a point guard. He grew up idolizing Michael Jordan. Like Kobe, all he wanted to be was a heroballer. What the French faggot never realized was he never had the talent to actually follow through. His extremely poor career playoff percentages reflects this.

Reasons we lost:
1) Couldn't score on fast breaks. Leonard and Parker in particular should have scored on some of those.
2) Didn't make enough free throws. 13/20 isn't good enough in a game 7.
3) Left 3-point shooters wide open several times. And they made all of them.
4) Didn't use enough clock at the end. Basically the OP nailed this point.
In that order.

It's not about running clock. Trying to run clock with a lead is how Paul choked Game 5 away in OKC last year. Parker should have pulled it out not because of the clock, but because he sucks now and wasn't going to hit that layup.

Doc outcoached Pop the whole series, out of time outs, rotations, P&R's, defensive rotations, called out the refs.... Pop was garbage at play calling after timeouts the whole season. It's always a Manu ISO, Duncan fadeaway, or a lob (Duncan's lucky lob where Asik tipped it in)

TP being shift with the rebound then fouling Blake when we were up 5 with all of the momentum was the game-changer.
Paul's 3 after Manu's bricked FT was also huge.
Or maybe any of those missed transition opportunities that led to clipper 3s the other way.
Bottom line is that the clippers stepped up and hit big shots in the last minute and our guys didn't.
Also, that last play was atrocious

You're right. He was trying to do too much. The annoying thing about the rebound is Green saved it and all TP had to do was grab it with 2 hands. Multiple times the Spurs failed to secure the rebounds because they just were strong with the ball and grabbing it with two hands. The Clippers made much fewer mistakes than the Spurs. Alot of the Spurs issuses were self-inflicted.
