Greatest athlete businessman of all-time, tbh?
Dad Killer was more of a figurehead that has milked Jordans..is between Floyd and Aids Johnson?
Floyd picks his fights, everybody hates him, people pay to watch his fights just to see him lose, he's a convicted abuser of women, he can't read, he's widely considered to be a boring fighter..yet he just made $150 million for 1 match in a dead sport:lol..

Greatest taunt in pro sports, even better than Dikembe
Floyd's "nope"

I haven't watched his career, but what's his appeal? He looked like a highly skilled counter but if you have the reach advantage of five inches shouldn't you try offense? If this is boxings best I'll stay with mm gay

Lol mmgay
I mean two guys hugging on tights will at least possibly end in a submission. Floyd was winning by judge and only by judge. I hate fuckers who fight for judges and not to deliver highlights. You call Parker a cancer, what's Floyd done for the sport?
Greatest of all time in anything? Fuck that.
Lol mmgay
I know man, no fights this weekend. I'm forced to give a shit about boxing. We'll see how often that happens

594745426819022848Alis taunt in that one fight with George Foreman was better IMO, that one can't be topped IMO. He basically clowned the shit outta him. Sugar Rays wind up as well and flurry he would do was up there as well.

Greatest of all time in anything? Fuck that.He would have gotten taken out a few times in the 80's, he fights in a shit era and so on. He is a great boxer though I give him that, mainly just plays the D role and never knocks anyone out and is boring as fuck but great.

Ah then he's close to GOAT in that. I have Jordan as the GOAT, he's a billionaire. Black guys from the ghetto line up for MJ's shoes erryday and they will continue to do so for decades to come despite the fact that MJ hates black men.
Meanwhile, Floyd is living solely off his boxing paychecks.
Great, a long ass match with two guys who can't knock out a midget. Yay... making more money makes you a better boxer. You "right now" faggots that put every front page name as the GOAT because you're inspired by them.
Boxing.. lol

That's the point, though..boxing is a dead sport, and these are 2 140-pound fighters, a KO was not expected, yet Mayweather just generated $150 mil from casual fans that actually paid for it and were probably extremely disappointed:lol..

So he's a better boxer because he generated more money? If that's the case, Joe Johnson is a better basketball player than Michael Jordan was.

Tiger was already a billion dollar athlete... He was on top of his game, and he was the face of endorsements. He should've realized to stop before his wife discovered his cheating ways. Now he's just your run of the mill golfer. Golf has suffered because of him. People gave a shit about golf because of Tiger.

I don't think Tiger was self-made, though..he was the best golfer in the world, and happened to be part Black, which opened up the sport to a whole new facet of marketing and new demographic:lol..
Mayweather is doing this in a sport that nobody cares about, and they only buy his fights to watch him lose:lol..

He made himself by having a special skill in golf imo. And then he undid all that by being a coke-snorting nympho. Oh, professional athletes. :rollin
You can't say nobody cares about it then say it's making the most money. What, are a handful of people paying exorbitant prices for tickets and rights to bouts no one wants to see? I don't think so.
It's all about the promotion. I've never watched either of them fight, so they've not made anything off of me, but plenty do.
Oscar drew big PPV crowds as well, but a lot of people couldn't have identified him in a lineup to save their lives. As far as being a businessman, he's got businessmen working for him but I wouldn't call a guy who cannot read a "businessman". He's a recipient of a lot of hype and a fantastic fighter, but the promotions are someone else.

I'd put Aids and Dk ahead of Kobe imo. Mamba is just starting to build his business interests as he closes his basketball career.
Even Shaq is better as an athlete-businessman. Also has a Phd to boot.

I agree we need Floyd to get into a street fight with Mike Tyson just like Gunn did with Rocky in the movie. Now that would be entertaining.

Athletes don't even control their own promoting. They have promoters, publicists, agents, representatives, etc who do all the work for them. All they do is show up where they're told.

wouldnt even put Hearns in there. Dude lost every big fight except vs Duran he's ever been in. Can't forget many of the great older fighters. Henry Armstrong for sure. But in the modern day 147ers, Floyd is probably top five definitely top 10 for sure.
:lol at people who are responding to this and talking about floyd's boxing. this thread isn't about that
Ok, so if it's just $, is Floyd beating the soccer stars?
Also one Floyd retires, is he getting any $? Meanwhile Jordan won't ever die. He'll still be pimping sneakers and underwear as a hologram.
LeBron should pass Floyd too.
I just think Floyd has no brand to bank on once his fights end.
He earned $73 million in salary, bonuses and endorsement income in 2013 to take the top spot on our list of the world’s highest-paid soccer players and is now one of the highest-paid athletes in the world. Last year Tiger Woods took that top honor after making $78.1 million, followed by Roger Federer who made $71.5 million. Their earnings were based on the 12-months ending June 2013.
From Forbes, referring to Ronaldo. Just curious how often Floyd has gotten plus $70 mill fights. And whether his crew of retainers is significantly more draining than LeBron, Ronald, or tiger. You shouldn't be declared greatest $ sportsman if you blow it all on friends or similar dumb shit.
Brazil

not even close tbh
Woods cumulated more than 1 Bi during his career and is still have time to make more, Jordan is close to that then Shumacher must be up there too.
Brazil
05-04-2015, 10:59 AM
Magic is also on the 1 Bi club tbh but a big part of his fortune has been made out of Sport.
If you talk about strictly business capacity he is number one... He has been of one the first to get advantage of the minority business enterprise certification stuff in US. He earned a shit load of money with it.
Others are following his path like the microwave Johnson who created a company to provide parts for the Big 3 in Detroit so that they can rack some MBEs credit, vital for tax incentives and political visibility.
