Can't find a video, but back during Dad Killer's gambling suspension, the Bulls lost to the Spurs, and Pippen got ejected and threw a chair onto the court like he was Bobby Knight.

That gives me the feeling you didn't even watch the NBA during the 90's. There were more great teams with notable future HoF's than today.

And you guys forgot about the NBA on NBC as a positive. The 90's were the NBA's golden age.

CN and the entire 90's suck crew are about 22-25 years old. Im pretty sure they were all ranging from 4-9 years old at best the LAST time MJ won a ring. No one that was alive to watch 90's ball actually think its anything shy of the greatest era in NBA history.

They also think May is greater than Ali:lol

Great stuff. Dude had a bad temper he was still a fan fave. Though they never won anything of consequence enjoyed that Van Exel, Eddie Jones backcourt as a kid whenever me and best friend played he was NVRE and I was Eddie ...and we tried our best to wreck shop on the playground (didnt always work but we had fun).

I remember when Magic returned, for the second & last time. After what, a couple weeks, he got so frustrated he pushed that referee, wasn't it the old white guy that Barkley raced, Bavetta? And to tell the truth Van Exel had something to do with that frustration. Magic came back and needed his job and I imagine Van Exel didn't want to just give it up. He'd worked hard, I don't blame him. It was bad times then, with many dark days ahead.

If he'd just not rushed to mic after the HIV positive test and retired. Just wait for five fuckin' minutes, but, Magic never had restraint. That trait probably was involved in his contracting HIV. Then he let Malone talk him about of "immediately" returning. By the time he decided to come back for the last time it was too late, he was too old, too fat, too frustrated, too humiliated.

People crap on the 90's and the 80's here but it was one of the best coneergence of great players we may have had ever.

IF you start around MJ's Rookie year (mid 80's) To say circa 1987 you had these players at or near their primes or just heading in to it:

1. MJ
2. Magic
3. Isiah
4. Nique
5. Malone
6. Stockton
7. Bird
8. Worthy
9. Chuck
10. Ewing
11. Hakeem
12. Drexler
13. Mullin

And that's just off the top of the dome ...

Then in the next two years we have entering the league: Pippen, David Robinson, Reggie Miller (iirc). Being added to those guys so by the early 90's even as Magic Bird Isiah leave you have so much HOF caliber talent. Now I do agree that the 90's suffers in the mid to later part of the decade because the drafts at the end of the 80's sucked. (The 1989 draft had 8 of the top 10 become busts including Never Nervous Pervis) Plus the early 90's had some clunkers too ...From 89-91 Only GP is a lock for the HOF. That is why the 90's dipped in quality the 80's stars got old and the drafts were horrid until 1992 When Shaq, Zo, and Horry (not a HOF'er but helped the HOF'ers win titles) came in to the league ...

Also how Magic lost it as a coach when a player's (was it NVE?) pager went off during a film session or something. Magic grabbed the pager and threw it against the wall in frustration because the kids were respecting the game.

Imagine how Magic would feel when he sees his players in the locker room tweeting non-stop (or even during a game). He'd go all magic johnson on them.

This is the ONLY spot on planet Earth that downplays the 90s era. If you tell anyone 90s ball was the worst you would get laughed at. I'm pretty sure the 90s ball sucks crew think Drake>2pac

Ironically, the '90s era is the Drake of NBA basketball. Horrible product, but still popular because the media shoves it down everyone's throats.

I don't get why Starks is being laughed at so badly.

Why was he that bad?

How were teams like Atlanta with Kyle Korver and Jeff Teague any better in terms of star power?
Paul George? Roy Hibbert?
Draymond green projected to get the max?
Kawhi being a no brainer max player?
James harden?
Jimmy butler?
A 39 year old duncan?
An ancient MVPau?

And again why Starks? He was a second option on a team that got to the finals twice because jordan went play baseball/retired.

Thing about the '90s NBA is that most people at the time knew it was a garbage product and talked openly about it, yet now it's supposed to be some kind of golden age of the game.

:cryBut those 73-69 Knicks-Heat fightfests were classic:cry

Fratello and slow ball were a big part of that ...No it wasn't good as 80's or 00's but it wasn't as bad as some say

The 80s with the lakers and the celtics were widely known as the golden age of basketball and allowed the league to really take off after the ISO and drug filled 70s.

I really haven't heard the 90s being known as the high point of basketball. The leagues offense got so bad that it experimented with the shorter three point line which absolutely backfired.
There was no question that the league was trying to market jordan and cash out on him that they refused to make any changes that will open up the game and in turn (likely) limit the dominance of the Bulls and jordan.

90s ball was perfect for jordan and I'm not sure of the Bulls can really three peat two separate times with that roster in today's game. They dominated the ISO ball game because of that personnel, but then the Bulls seem to have good passers and shooters in every position (except when Rodman was the PF).

90a ball was bad, the league didn't even try to hide that with all the rule changes and the open discussions about the offensive problems. However, they got star power that the league couldn't match since.
