You're fortunate they didn't go the OKC route and keep him around. Congrats :lol

I'd have thought they'd have kept him around, they weren't expected to make the playoffs, even as recently as three weeks out at the end of the season and even pulled off a clutch win in the last game of the season to get in. Somewhat surprising.

Not surprising for people that actually watched Monty get grossly outcoached in numerous regular season games though. An average to good coach could have accomplished much more with this team.

It'll be interesting if they can land Thibedeau.

I remember seeing some tweet about how making the playoffs saved his job. The owners even said they'd can him if they didn't make it.

You'd assume he'd be the #1 target should he become available.
He'd probably try to clean house besides Davis and Holiday.

Should have fired Demps too. He's no better. Instead he gets rewarded with an extension and more power. What a joke.
I saw the thread title and thought "again?"

Same with Presti.
I think teams have to look at models like Pop and RC and their relationship with the owner Peter Holt, to see how to run a franchise. The NBA has become a circus though, and everyone is standing around the monkey cage seeing what they do next, so no one really give a shit about "beautiful basketball" except the old timers.

And even your shining example couldn't resist joining the circus and making a parody/clown of himself. Why? What would drive a man like Pop to such behaviors? We don't know. Why? Nobody is permitted to ask that question. No--fuckin'--way.

Relationships are about finding synergy. You're talking about individual performance. That's not something an owner can control.
That question has been asked ad nauseum upstairs and down here. Media doesn't touch it but not because they hold a reverence for Pop. It's because it doesn't sell copy. You know this, yet you seem to prefer to pretend it's about preferential treatment.

It is about preferential treatment. If we'd a had to give back our 5th like you did AFTER they started selling our shit you can damn well believe Media woulda asked Jackson about it. Nobody asked Pop. It was off the table. Verboten.
Kobe's marital woes were fair game for Meda. Duncan's weren't.

Monty should've been fired a long time ago tbh, and he's mainly responsible for the team being an underachiever. The team's talent level is simply amazing imho - unibrow, Evans, Holiday, Cornerstone, and several solid role players like Anderson and Asik, top 5 level in the west imho. They're just some experience and a good coach away from being a championship contender, tbh.
