View Full Version : Clippers blowing the Rockets series is like a cruel version of Saving Private Ryan

They fucked us over for THAT? Remember when Tom Hanks' character tells Private Ryan to "earn it" before he basically dies for him? He winds up living a long-lasting and fruitful life always acknowledging Hanks. Well, for us, TD basically told Paul to earn it when we lost to them and he proceeds to piss it away along with his asshole team the first chance they get. Fuck you, Clips. Rot in fucking hell.

That Clippers team was terrible anyway. Outside of Paul and Blake, their team is trash. They were going to gas out eventually.

Thank Splitter's vagina and Parker for having one of the worst performances in history. We would be in the WCF right now. SMH.

They actually would've given the Dubs a good challenge, though. The Rockets, on the other hand, are going to get fucked in the ass via sweep.

Agreed. They just match up decently with the Warriors. But still, their roster is awful. If the Clippers had any decent bench players (not even counting the bullshit that Crawford, Rivers, and Big Baby hit to consider them good players), the Clippers would have handled us easily instead of having 6 out of 7 grueling games.

I wonder if they'll let Jordan walk so they can address their depth instead.

What a backdoor sweep. If we only played them in the 2nd round instead of the first.

It sucked to lose to the Clippers considering their role players like Barnes,Reddick,Rivers,Crawford had fluke series against the Spurs. I didn't think those 4 guys could continue to play out of their ass for the whole entire playoffs like they did against the Spurs. Spurs were unfortunate to catch those 4 guys during their bs hot streak shooting.

It's a shitty year for the West if the Rockets are one of the 2 teams remaining in the West. :lol

:lol fans that hype up this shitty conference every year.

It is going to be the Cavs and Warriors anyways in the Finals and the league will find a way for LeBron to get another title. Really no mystery about it. Warriors will make us believe for a moment they had a chance and then the on-cue choke job will rear it's ugly head & LeBron will have to overcome at least one game where he is very ill to ensure his legacy is preserved.

Warriors would absolutely demolish the Cavs:lol..

That Cavs team is very average for a contender, they are extremely fortunate to be playing in an atrocious conference..

Cleveland is not winning this year. No K Love, Irving hurt, and LeBron hasn't been that impressive either. It couldn't be more of a cakewalk for the Warriors. :lol if they actually lose in this playoff run.

Spurs losing in Game 7 pretty much guaranteed a Golden State championship barring injury. The Rockets are about to get stomped out in the WCF tbh

An incredible accomplishment if it happens.

Most NBA teams have to pay their dues, get closer a few more years before they win it all.

Historic feat by the Warriors.

Hats off to Kerr if he pulls it off.

Yep, maybe it's because the Spurs have been out since the 1st round, but damn these playoffs were terrible this year. The champion was decided when the playoffs started, tbh.

The Warriors have definitely had a lot of good fortune with injuries to other teams and no injuries to their own roster, but ya, it would be historic..

If the Cavs had Love, I'd give them a chance, but they have looked really bad since his injury and are lucky to be playing against poor teams like the Celtics and Bulls without Gasol..

:lol I haven't watched a full game since Game 7. Been a pretty stress free couple of weeks tbh...

But this is the weakest crop of Final Four teams that I can remember. Both the Cavs and Hawks are first round exits in the West tbh....

Its all about the warriors....first the nba got rid of the spurs and now the clippers so warriors can make it to the finals....bet if spurs played the clippers again the spurs would win that series....spurs just got screwed...spurs can beat the rockets and warriors too

Agreed. The west sucks outside of GSW - they will probably get the title gifted to them given the other three teams left. I'm sorry the frailties of Parker and Splitter cost the Spurs a chance to win it all this year. The team in June would have done it. Unfortunately, that team was AWOL all year long.

I said already that the Clippers are not really that good. Having 5 guys that can play basketball doesn't mean shit. I am not surprised about their choke job.

Not the Celtics in '08. Warriors also have alot of veteran players with experience and a coach who won 5 titles as a player.

Although I picked the Clippers to beat the Spurs, it was evident from the onset that the Spurs were the only team that could match up with the Warriors from a personnel standpoint..once the Spurs were eliminated and the Cavs lost Love, it was the Warriors' title to lose..

Rockets are tougher than the Warriors. Do they have the talent ? No. But they're tougher. That will tell the tale this deep into the playoffs.

Hey if the league changes the hack a Jordan rule we can make an offer for him. He's a lefty shot blocker that could play well with Kawhi.

I couldn't disagree any more. Rockets have a lot of talent on their team. Toughness has been a prevailing question mark for them and it starts with Howard, who is known to be a huge mental midget. Combine that with extremely questionable team defense, especially with no Beverly, and that is what would really tell the tale in this series, IMO.

:lol Rockets are a fast-paced team that rely heavily on the 3-point shot..ya, sounds like the formula to beat the fucking Warriors, the team with the #1 pace in the NBA and the best 3-point shooting team in the league..

It'll also be pretty painful to watch them have 39-year old Prigioni and 40-year old Jason Terry guarding the best PG of this generation, too:lol..

First time around it went pretty well in 03 when they won the title, the last time past his prime even (He shot 50% from 2, 60% from three and 90% from the FT line in the playoffs 2012) he did well the first year back in those playoffs. He was released the next year and flat out horrible, but for those two playoff runs (03 and 12) he was pretty damn good.

I wonder if they'll let Jordan walk so they can address their depth instead.

Wouldn't help. They'd have like $3.5 million in cap space (After declining Barnes and Crawford's team options) to clear out the bench trash and get a starting center and starting SF. If bring back all three they would have the tax payers MLE ($3.3 million).

If the Clippers had any decent bench players (not even counting the bullshit that Crawford, Rivers, and Big Baby hit to consider them good players), the Clippers would have handled us easily instead of having 6 out of 7 grueling games.

At 2:15 left in Q3 of game 6, Rivers entered for Paul. Score was 89-71 Clippers (+18). Big Baby entered for DeAndre a few minutes later at +15.

Big Baby left the game at 9:59 of Q4 at +9. Rivers left the game at 7:28 of Q4 at +10. From that point forward, essentially against the Clippers best players, the Rockets went on a 29-4 run until Paul hit a three to end the game.

Yes, the lead was cut with the bench in the game. But that has to fall squarely on Doc. You have to use your timeouts to manage your starters' rest and stop the other teams' runs. He didn't take a full timeout (besides the mandated TV timeout) until 2:27 of the fourth quarter! Used up the 20 second TO early that quarter on a scramble for the ball (?).

That, and relying on Jamal Crawford who is one of the biggest chuckers in the league (-27 in that game 6). Yes, he gets lucky but he's generally a guy you want chucking until he hits a few in a row, then you stick a good defender on him.

Once game 6 was lost, Clips had nothing left in the tank and would have been DOA against the Warriors anyway.
