Vinny was the scapegoat for every Clippers failure, and yet the dude didn't even have GM powers to reshape the roster, and had to work with evil massa Sterling :cry

Still took them as deep into the playoffs as GM/coach Doc...

Clipperfan can apologize in this thread, tbh...

It's true though... it was at a different level than Sterling, but they also hung Vinny out to dry every time. It wasn't Blake fault, it wasn't CP3 fault, it wasn't Swaggy P's fault... it was Vinny this, Vinny that...

Well, Vinny hasn't been there for 2 years now.

Only Keith Smart -guy that benched Steph Curry for Acie Law- was worse than VDN.

And that's why Jackson was rooted out, because of his religion. Had he been of Jewish persuasion it woulda been cited in pear shaped tones and all respect. Because Jackson was a Christian he was harangued. His blackness did not save him.

But then you have David Blatt almost blowing a game on a timeout he didn't have.

I disagree with this. I know he gets a lot of credit for the offense, and that's fine, but Alvin is too casual to display the fortitude the Dubs displayed when they were down in the Grizz series.

Alvin is a very capable coach, and I definitely would put him above Doc, but his claim to fame is one good season and 3 missed playoffs as a head coach.

Thought the same thing. Its not really an indictment on the coach. Pop is 1-4 in games 7s and 1-3 on the road. Home teams win game 7s much more often than not.

Please, the Clippers were one bad quarter from finally pulling it off. Almost doesn't count but if I were the Clippers, I wouldn't panic and do anything too drastic but with that said, Doc needs to relinquish the GM tag. He's done stuff like brought his son in to play.

Alvin Gentry is the real coach of the Dubs.

Just like Tom Thibodeaux was the real coach of the Doc Rivers' Celtics title teams.

We don't do "Finals teams" as an achievement here. It's a means to an end. Without the end, it's without worth.

& thank Christ, we'd a never heard the end of it. Sacramento this, their rag head owners that, cowbells this, Christie's big bush wife that, Daddy this, Kobe that. I do not know if I could've stood it, Whites.

And then CWEBB got happy and it was all right.

3-3. 2-1 at home, 1-2 on the road.

2005 vs DET (W)
2006 vs DAL (L)
2008 @NO (W)
2013 @MIA (L)
2014 vs DAL (W)
2015 @LAC (L)

Also won game 5 vs Seattle in the 2002 first round which was an elimination game for both teams.

I may be missing some then

Detroit -Finals-Win
Dallas WCF-Lose
New Orleans -WCSF-Win
Miami-Finals-Lose
Clippers WCFR-Lose

actually 2-3.

Edit:

forgot about the Dallas pounding last season 3-3 is correct
