Butler is a better defender although he probably didn't have as good a year as Danny. The fact is Green is the 3rd best defender on this team after Kawhi and Duncan, and very few people are going to put 3 players from the same team on their ballot.

In terms of guards who missed out, he was behind Westbrook, Bradley and Thompson. Bradley probably deserves it ahead of Danny, he's an incredible defender, and Thompson is a good defender but will suffer the same problem as the Warriors got Bogut and Green on the team. Westbrook is laughable though, he gambles for steals and is an average team defender.

Danny Green is the 2nd best defender in this team not the third. Get your mainstream vanilla big 3 media generated player fan opinion out of there

if he's talking about just the playoffs, then Green was better than Kawhi for sure

Wall is a good defender and a beast in the passing lanes.

What did you expect? Kobe Bryant was a lock for all defensive first team for years.

His coach doesn't even respect him.

Also Wall and Paul are the two of the best point guard defenders and most voters choose a legit team with a point guard, hence their selections. Obviously bigger guys are more versatile

Green isn't consistently dominant. I do think he suffers by comparison to Kawhi though.

One of the most overrated defenders IMO, based off of name alone he got the first team at times. He never was a lockdown guy IMO, played in spurts but overall very overrated on D. He camped out on Prince and Rondo in the finals when his team was getting killed by Hamilton, Billups, Allen and Paul, any real great defender accepts the challenge and switches over to guard the guy going off but he did not, fact.
