Only thing that keeps me from picking the warriors outright is the fact that I really can't believe Lebron can lose two finals in a row.

Albeit on different teams, I'm thinking that 96-98 Jazz team was the last to lose back-to-back, or those '00 Nets...

In any event, it's just the odds which make me skeptical, also, while the cavs feel bigger, physically like they'll dominate the inside, I think their scoring options are severely limited.

I'll pick the Warriors, fuck all the noise about that bullshit greatest player on the planet.

Even Boston made the playoffs this year, so I guess the Warriors' 2nd unit would be a locked playoff team in the East, with Ezeli/Speights/Barnes/Green/Livingston, Barbosa as 6th man.

For those who have actually watched, Cavs are a tougher team without Love. Have only given up 100 points twice since he went down and one of those was an OT game. Cavs are only allowing opponents to shoot 28% from 3, by far the best in the NBA. Their bigs have dominated opposing bigs since Love went down. This series will go 6 or 7 games.

Love gave the Cavs points but was a revolving door on defense. I see his injury as a letdown on the offensive side but a plus on defensive side and not that big of a deal overall. Kyrie is a much larger concern

Plenty of people on this forum picked Chicago and Atlanta to beat the Cavaliers. Now because the Cavaliers dominated them those teams suck?

I like to think I'm a realist- I knew they weren't going to beat the Spurs in '07, I just wanted them to steal a game or two- but I think the Cavaliers have a puncher's chance in this series. If they steal Game One all bets are off, IMO. I'll own it if I'm wrong :toast

This shit already feels like the off season. Why would they take so much time to start the Finals?

Was going to bitch about this but then you have to reason, all finals plans are made with reference to to the possibility of a seventh game of the conference finals, but if there is no seventh game, let alone 5 or 6, it's logistically unfeasible for the league, networks, and teams(stadiums) to reorganize for a new schedule.

Truth is the it could be possible but the logistics for an in any event start to the finals is not in place apparently.

I think the league is pretty pissed about the shortness of the conference finals too, ratings and tv revenue will be down

That's how the Heat won against Spurs that last year. Ginobili making the worst type of turnovers or missing gimme shots. The Heat fed off of bad decisions, mental weakness to consistently make shots, and turnovers. Most of all, when a team isn't getting the calls, they'll fall into a spell of bad decisions which is what happened with Atlanta with other factors. The Spurs proved beyond mentally strong last season.

Since last finals where the Spurs demolished any semblance of Heat at all by making shots and not turning the ball over at high rates, its concludes the only way to finish off a LeBron led team. This why Kerr is preaching taking care of the ball; a LeBron led team on a fast break is impossible to stop and will overachieve on their three point shooting capability.

These guys would never be capable of this if LeBron wasn't driving up their possessions with a high usage percentage and efficiency per possession. They only have to do so little such as rebound, shoot, and camp for the offense he's generating.
