We could beat the Warriors healthy, but we weren't healthy enough to beat them this year. At least getting beaten in the first round has given us a couple months extra rest, much needed after 3 deep playoff runs with the same group.

Never again will the media / league office hope the Spurs fall out of the playoffs early. Three game sweep - Houston might as well not even show up for game four.

I'm more annoyed that we lost to a team that couldn't even close out on a 3-1 lead against the lolckets

It was partially that Blake Griffin started to wear down, and the Clippers bench sucked. They played great against the Spurs and made a lot of shots. Teams change from one round to the next, and it's all about match-ups.

Yep, this was the year to make it to the conference finals...and then the Knicks/Irving/Pelicans/Swaggy P happened.

Fuck!!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed. We would be getting our asses kicked too.

We would have lost. Heck we struggled to beat them in 2013, and that was with home court, and they were injured (both Curry and Thompson).

They would have beaten the Spurs, maybe in 7, but the heartbreak woulda been worse.

Im glad we got bounced early, gives the guys two extra months to rest. Go win it in 2016, maybe.

Thompson was hurt?:lol no, he's just a playoff choker fortunate to have Curry..

We would of lost to them the way we played this year.

Series would of gone to six though...

^^^^^^ This, they looked good out there until they pulled that crap. We out choked the choking ass Clippers, that is what bothers me the most. When they were up 3-1 I said yeah they are legit and no shame in losing to them this year, then they turn into the playoff chokers they are the next series.

Sure, we would've lost to the Warriors. But is there any team in the NBA that would've had a better shot at beating them than us? Remember that the Spurs, at their peak this season, beat them by 30.

Spurs own thr warriors. Curry rarely if ever goes off on the Spurs. He shoots a lower percentage and takes fewer shots against the Spurs.

It's all about matchups. Fortunately for them, they got to avoid us this yr. Like in 07, you can say we lucked out not having to face the Mavs again....

They should have thanked the Clippers for taking the Spurs out in the first round like the Spurs thanked the Warriors in '07.

Once the Spurs got eliminated, Warriors got comfortable because aside from Tony Allen, nobody was touching Steph Curry. The Spurs elimination made every team breath a huge sigh of relief, even though we had Porker on the team

Honestly whoever wins the championship would have no chance at beating the 2014 Spurs, but the 2015 Spurs weren't near as good, injuries and a lack of motivation did this team in.

It sucks seeing warriors get all the fame and we not there to give a fight all because Pop messed up the season with arrogant, softness and stupidity and didn't brought the best out of this team, maybe the worst season menegment of all time, worst passive aggresive way to manage a season, waste Duncan last life for nothing, such a waste of season and a final year of a group together it making me feel ugly, and also the embarrassment of losing game 7 to the clippers... Pop is a fool!!!

If we couldn't beat the Clips, there's no reason we "should" be out there.

One thing for sure. The best teams in the comp should be playing now. Not the one sided matchups we currently seeing. If they needed another reason to change the seeding system. This is the biggest.

I'd take losing on a last-second shot to an all-time great PG to getting embarrassed in the WCF. I don't think we'd have had enough gas to stop the Warriors, we had troubles all year with consistency and the best shooter in the world wouldn't suddenly stop being great regardless to the chance of Kawhi on him. He'd be limited, but I don't think Pop would have made any adjustments while Kerr would have adjusted their strategies to winning the series within 5.

That's how I feel anyway. If we eked out of the first round, there's no guarantee we would have beaten the Rockets either. This whole year kind of sucked, we never looked like the same team and losing like we did to the Knicks and Pelicans proved to me we were done.

Clips overachieved, the Spurs underachieved. As a result, we've got one of the most boring NBA playoffs in years (at least for Spurs fans).
Golden State is merely a jump-shooting team on an incredible roll. The Cavs are the best of a soft and uninteresting Eastern Conference.
This was the Spurs year to repeat, and I think it was within their grasp, even with the injuries.

It's hard to win when the worst player in the entire playoffs is on your team getting a significant amount of minutes/touches. If Parker played like a below-average point guard, Spurs beat the Clips. Instead, he had one of the worst playoffs in NBA history. It's amazing we even went seven games with such a cancerous player dragging us down. Replace Tony with a D-League tier point like Langston Galloway and Spurs probably make the conference Finals.

This isn't even the first time Tony's choked in a repeat year. He also fucked the Spurs over in '04 and '06 with his blatant chucking.

Agree, sometimes you need to bench yourself if it's in the best interests of the team.

Golden State is not just a jump shooting team.

They move the ball well enough to get a lot of easy inside points and have an up-tempo game that will run you out of the gym if the opponents create live turnovers or fall asleep on defense after makes and misses.

The Spurs may be a tough match-up for GS and might have given them a tougher series than Houston, but we'll never know since they were unable to take care of their own business throughout the season.

Pop treated that Pelicans game like it didn't make a difference. He said he was coaching with a heavy heart.
