Any of yall ever head out to fredericksburg to go check out wines? im a beer guy but just want something different to do. Any of you know of any wineries out there that you can just show up to on any given saturday and taste wine?

There's a tour bus you can get on for a price that goes to a lot of them. I think it's a full day trip. Not sure who the carrier is, but you could probably find it by searching. That would be the best bet, you can get tipsy and not have to drive.

A friend of mine works at a winery on the weekends in Fred, and she always invited me to come out and check it out. She loved it, and didn't complain about a job that allowed her to work buzzed.

It's awesome. Have done both the drive out there on my own, and the bus DMC said. Very cool weekend. They also have their own brewery there too if you are a beer guy.

I was at a bar in Finland a few years ago and the owner mentioned the wineries in Fredericksburg, said he toured the hill country and he even had some flags and memorabilia from Luckenbach at his bar.

So it's not a local secret, that's for sure.

Yes, make sure you can get the tour as all inclusive as possible though. Sucks to pay for a wine tour only to find out you have to pay for more wine later.
