View Full Version : Hornets: The Warriors Couldnt Guard Kobe Like They Are Guarding James

This speaks volumes on how incomplete his game is after 12 seasons that teams are guarding him one on and daring him to shoot jumpers. Imagine Klay, Barnes, and Iggy trying to check prime Kobe. Hell... Kobe was torching niggas like Pippen, Payton and Bowen in their primes... and they had help.

This years Dubs are just as good defensively as the 04 Pistons, and we all know how that turned out for Kobe

I'd have to agree. They'd all have to get the gate access code to his home.

Kobe sucked against the Pistons and both Celtics teams in the Finals, tbh..he even struggled against the Nets in 2002, another great D IIRC..the only great D he played well against in the Finals was Orlando in 2009, where he dominated..

Why does Lakerstan keep bringing up glorified T-Mac when talking about James? The last time Kirby had a roster like Lebron has right now he was asking to be traded...

...that's how you got a 2nd 5th. Diaw quit on his employer, came to Texas and broke his back carrying that queer to it.

Nuh uh, your boy brought up Kobe Iverson and James. You don't get to deflect to the Spurs because it's uncomfortable.

Smush (Irving)
Cook (Love)
Sasha V (JR Smith)
Kwame (Mozgof)
Walton (Matrix)

I fail to see one equivalent ^ player. And Kobe played in the WC with those "NBA" players. -15 points son. :lol

:lol Why are you leaving out Odom? Wasn't "The Machine" championship material? You can't have it both ways. Irving has barely played, Delladevadolla played most of the minutes (apt comparison with Smush)...

Love has not played a single playoff game either... -20 points Rodrigo...

There was more "potential" with Irving and Love, but Love been out, and Kyrie has only played like half the games... I mean, JR Smith isn't much better than 2007 Larry Hughes...

At least in 2007 they had some competition in the East like the Pistons... this year? the brokeback bulls, the hawks folded...

LO was "Odumb" so much before Pau arrived that I forgot about him. One game he'll give us 23/11/7 the next game he goes for 7/3/2 with 5 TOs. Very frustrating player...but when Pau arrived something clicked...I think he knew his days were numbered. Maybe his arrival motivated him? Not sure. But to be the centerpiece of the Shaq trade we didn't get much of any consistent returns.

If if he was so good what happened when we traded him to Dallas? Exactly. :lol

He was always good vs. the Suns. Had he played like that consistently, he'd be an all star and would have retired as a Laker. Too inconsistent and he made boneheaded plays (i.e. dribbling the ball inbounds instead of passing it to a teammate :loldumb)

:lol The reason they can't guard Lebron like Kobe is because they know Kobe wouldn't pass. They have to guard Lebron one and one and live with him scoring 40 on 50% FG because he can pass and make good decisions.

Kobe, they double and help because he will chuck to the tune of 6-24 while not passing.

He doesn't have the range Kobe has on his jumper (neither did MJ), he doesn't have Kobe's footwork or postgame. <-- these are a few reasons why they can't guard him like team stat prepared to guard Kobe.

44 points on 38 shots. What are your thoughts on that?

Odom carried Wade to his first taste of playoff success pre-Kirbs. Also dragged URI to within a minute of the Final Four in 1998. This shot > anything Kirbs has ever done in his life:

No. He left because Dr. Buss wasn't gonna pay him what he wanted. Just to make sure, Kobe didn't sign his extension until the trade was consummated IIRC.

LeHype had Shaq, just like Penny, Kobe, and Wade before him, and still ended up shining shoes.
