Has anyone seen this movie? It's crazy!! it's in Japanese with English subtitiles.

Aoyama (Ryo Ishibashi) is a lonely man who doesn't have much of a life since his wife died. His son (Tetsu Sawaki) and his best friend (Jun Kunimura), the television producer, encourage him to start dating. When he decides he wants to remarry, his friend sets up an audition for a phony movie. He lets Aoyama choose the 30 women to bring in and when he sees Asami (Eihi Shiina), he's smitten with the lovely young woman who studied ballet. His friend thinks there is something not quite right about her, but he doesn't care. They go out and like each other, but both are too shy to call back. When he finally gets up the nerve, we are given a hint that there is definitely something not right about the misfortunate ballerina (she has a body tied up in a bag next to the phone). When she tells the guy he must love only her, she really means it - and not in a good way...

This is like Fatal Attraction if Glenn Close studied anger management from Tobe Hopper (Texas Chainsaw Massacre). The woman likes piano wire and she's not afraid to use it - on tongues, fingers, feet, and even heads. Wait 'til you see her idea of a "pet" - it's pretty twisted.

There are several deep discussions on suffering and the art of "tasting pain" to know thyself - but that's just killing time until the real carnage can begin. Too much time actually - it is very slow getting to "the good stuff".

The last 20 minutes are supposed to be so unbelievably horrific people were passing out in theaters in Japan (but remember their reaction to Godzilla). There is some pretty gory stuff that will have popcorn-throwers swimming in the stuff (or watching the movie with their eyes closed). Besides all the bone sawing, there are acupuncture needles stuck into the stomach and the eyes, and a torture that looks like branding with iron chopsticks (but probably wasn't).

Well see, I can never watch it then.

I'm terrified of horror films. Not because of blood or gross shit. It has something to do with something (long story short) and being traumatized as a child.

As a kid, I was into gore and blood and scary shit. I used to always watch Tales from the Creep (I know, not very scary) as a kid. All the time.

But something happened (nothing sexual, don't worry) and I became traumatized to things dealing with suspense and horror. You know, the killer is in a dark room and a girl walks in. The music kicks up and it becomes faster and faster until BOOM! The killer pops out and does whatever. That moment of build up is something I cannot handle. It’s the same reason I can’t get on rollercoaster’s and what nots. It sucks, but that’s life. I hope to get over this one day.

Yeah, this movie is beyond fucked up. I have only seen bits and pieces of it, no pun intended, but what I saw was quite bizarre. You find yourself completely ignoring the subtitles and watching the movie only from a visual perspective. The Japanese have taken over as the horror kings.
