Summer of 85.
A fluke NBA Champion has just been crowned, with Sterns Lakers riding a rigged 2 3 2 format being used for the 1st time.
Game 5, instead of facing a hostile Boston crowd at the #1 seed Celtics house, had LA securely with it's mostly homosexual fanbase cheering on the HIV brewing Magic Johnson at the Forum.

Things were about to change back to the real champs.

Billy Walton picked up the phone and dialed Red Auerbach, who happened to have Larry Bird in the room. Bird told Red if Walton says he is healty enough to play that is good enough for him. The Lakers had put Walton off due to injury concerns.

The rest?
One of the GOAT 1986 Champions.
Would have been a run of 5 straight had not Lenny Bias od'd.

Then in '87 Bill "Dr. Scholls" Walton returned to pine shinin' & we opened up their ass once again.

& Bias...Gonna run him at PG. Gonna be a big shot. Tagged & slabbed. No more big shot.

You didn't open up shit.
You were gifted Michelle Thompsan at midseason in another rigged trade.
McHale got hurt, you played the pussiest schedule in the history of the NBA to get out of the West.

Was the end of real basketball era and the beginning of fag ball era.

That's exactly what we opened up.
Oh, yeah, they were incensed when Thompson came over.
Yeah, they were all limping around looking for sympathy. They got dragged to Los Angeles and left there,,,dead in the ground.

Would tapped tapped that Laker ass even harder but Ralph and Olajuwon shut those pussies down 4-1.

Here's some more folklore kids:

After the 1984-85 campaign, Walton called on two of the league's premier teams, the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers. After several players on the Celtics said they liked the idea of having Walton as a teammate backing up Robert Parish and Kevin McHale; Red Auerbach made the deal happen. One anecdote that particularly illustrates Walton's decision to choose the Celtics over the Lakers is about Larry Bird, who happened to be in Auerbach's office when Walton called and said that if Walton felt healthy enough to play that it was good enough for him, as opposed to Lakers GM Jerry West, who was hedging his interest in Walton pending a doctor's report. Boston acquired Walton by sending popular forward Cedric Maxwell to the Clippers along with a first-round draft pick. Providing a reliable backup to McHale and Parish, Walton received the NBA Sixth Man Award that season en route to the NBA Championship, becoming the only player to have ever won an NBA Finals MVP, Sixth Man Award, and regular season MVP.

And thus your reason for jumping on the Lakers bandwagon was borne. But perhaps Lebron will give you a chance to atone.
