The boys are doing a good job with both in the recruiting thread.
Now if they could get us some OLine and Dline recruits.

As of right now, it looks like Shaka Smart is going to kill it at Texas. But we will see... hopefully he does.

If it weren't for that TCU loss, they would be looking so good right now despite losing Cam.

Houston.

Houston, We have a coach. We have a coach who knows how to get the best out of the talent he has.

Ibeh. Take Ibeh if you will. Buried on the bench with Barnes. A very good athlete but not a basketball player.

Now he he might be drafted in the 2nd round? Are you F'N kidding?

That is the coach. Ridley goes down, he teaches and has confidence in Ibeh and we have a rim protector who knows how to stay in the game and how to make himself useful on the offensive end. We are not going far in the tournament most likely due to lack of talent. But by God we will be a basketball team. The makeover this team has undergone is remarkable.

Great effort. Buddy is a NBA level player that made an NBA level play. All you can do is tip your cap.

Good game.

Lammert hit those 3s against Baylor but not tonight.

Yah, it's a shame. Crazy that we used to know the names of the fab 5 in the day but I couldn't tell you the name of that stud kid at LSU without looking. And we're in the Internet/sports talk radio age to boot

Tournament saturation. Too many teams make it so the regular season does not matter so much. NBA has the same problem just not as bad. I think part of the reason pro and college football can coexist is that it's relatively tough to get the chance at a championship.

imo of course...

This board is full of relatively rare sports fans. We got people dying to see every regular season game an NBA team plays. The kicker is its the Spurs we are watching.

Texas v. Iowa St.

Not playing well but very composed. Moving the ball well but missing some wide open shots. The D inside needs to toughen up. And yet, we are only 2 behind a ranked opponent on their HC.

Teams are playing zone against us now as we have a group of guards that can handle and dish.

Its really hard to believe as we got pressed early in the year and it was effective. Our fundamentals have improved so much under Smart.

Down by 2 at half in Ames. We still continue to be a tough out in this conference. Good stuff.

They can, but not enough talent for a deep run. Lack bigs (Ibeh in foul trouble is a real problem) and the shooting forwards we had in the past.
We can also lose to mediocre teams imo.

The real fun of this season is how we can stay in games even if we are not playing well. With Barnes, we would give up and get blown out of the tub. And, it was horrible basketball. This season has been fun to watch because we have improved so much.

Hopefully they can get Ridley back. Smart has said early March. Any minutes he can give will be huge.

Would be great but Im sure the team is not counting on him to make it back. 10-15 mpg from him would be huge though....

I'm not comfortable with him coming back at all. Basketball history is littered with players who came back too soon from foot breaks. Cam's got a professional career ahead of him. I'd hate to see it derailed by re-injury.

It's an emotional/focus letdown after the big OU win. Hard to bring that level again two nights later...especially when you have a team that relies on effort over talent.

Gritty victory over OSU

Plantar f for Taylor, Shaq absolutely exhausted, Lammert could not cover his man, Ibeh merely flashing talent, and we win.
Roach stepped up this time.

Still a good watch compared to a Barnes team.

I can't help repeating, we have a coach. It's weird. We don't play well and we can still win primarily because we are a smarter, mentally tough team. So many years of crappy basketball with really good players and now... Good basketball.

pgardn
03-11-2016, 09:22 AM
That makes for blowout #3, all in the last part of the season.

Taylor's foot issues and the lack of depth in the big dept. are killing us now. We got absolutely annihilated on the boards by BU. Not good going into the tourney. The recipe to beat us is in the book.

Make Taylor work hard on both ends and crash the O-boards.

I picked Yale in my bracket, but I didn't think UT would lose.
