According to the Times, the FBI believes that Cardinals officials gained access to the Astros' database by using a list of passwords associated with Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow dating to his tenure with the Cardinals from 2003 until he left for Houston after the 2011 season.

First, why hack the Astros? :lol Second, why wouldn't Luhnow change his passwords?

Most obnoxious fan base in all of sports.

They're obnoxious, but not quite as obnoxious as Lakers or Boston fans, let's be real now.

But yeah, the Cardinals are a bunch of cheating faggots, just like the Patriots.

Astros GM worked for St. Louis and when he came to Houston installed the same type of software system he had in St.Lou...he brought
other men with him from St Lou and the FBI now think St Louis people hacked the Astros network by using passwords used in St Louis...
.It is believed they were in the Astros network for at least a year.....This is serious shit when the FBI comes in and I would bet some of
the Cardinals will have personal go the jail and the team banned from the playoffs. A nice touch would not allow them in the draft for
at least 4 years. MLB needs to hammer them as hard as they can too make this a risky thing to do and get caught,,,,,,

The baseball world is still trying to sort through the fallout (http://sports.yahoo.com/news/saints-no-more---cardinal-way--takes-a-hit-201529694.html) of Tuesday's news that the St. Louis Cardinals (http://www.spurstalk.com/mlb/teams/stl/) were being investigated by the FBI for allegedly hacking (http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/report--fbi-investigating-cardinals-for-hacking-astros--database-153025830.html) into the Houston Astros (http://www.spurstalk.com/mlb/teams/hou/)' internal database, but it appears we won't have to wait much longer for a resolution. The Houston Chronicle has the latest (http://blog.chron.com/ultimateastros/2015/06/16/cardinals-being-investigated-for-hacking-astros-computer-system/#33704101=0):

The investigation is expected to end soon, according to people familiar with the situation. One person briefed on the case said the suspects had been narrowed to a group of four to five individuals within the Cardinals organization.

If it’s determined that just a rogue employee or two of the Cardinals acted criminally, the question becomes whether the Cardinals failed to supervise those employees properly.
“It could range from anything to going in (to the system) a few times for kicks and posting stuff to embarrass somebody, to downloading their draft board,” one person familiar with the situation said of the potential nature of the crimes.
Likewise, any punishment from MLB that comes down is hard to speculate on until the actual extent of the acts are known.
Assistant U.S. attorney Michael Chu is handling the case.
Yahoo Sports reported that the FBI traced a breach back to a house in Jupiter, Fla., the spring training home of the Cardinals. A person familiar with the situation confirmed to the Chronicle that a house in that area had been looked at, but noted that other addresses — including at least one in a state with no major league team — had been looked at as well.
As the Chronicle reported Tuesday, there was more than one breach. The Astros became alerted to a breach in March 2014, after the Chronicle published a feature story on Ground Control, but subsequently, the FBI discovered the club had been breached at least once previously as well.

This is awesome! I was worried when I got back from deployment, I couldn't rightfully brag about the Pats win without fending off "cheater" accusations. But now the St Louis fans have no room to talk. It's awesome.

St Louis fans are annoying. They're nice to your face and venomous behind your back, and then puff up their chest at the "Best fans in baseball" stuff.

Plus they're all retarded and still believe the "Pats taped the walkthrough!" story which was already outed as a total lie.

Cardinals should be levied a record breaking fine(100mil+ from F1 racing) and lose their top 2 picks(going to houston) for the next ten years. In addition to that they should have no home games vs the Astros & the Cubs, in regular season and the playoffs.

Hughes says he told other employees of the Cardinals

Hughes asked if he found any Cardinals information, and Correa said he did.

“Who did you tell?,” Hughes asked.

“Colleagues,” Correa said.

Hughes asked for a clarification that Correa meant colleagues at the Cardinals, and Correa confirmed that was whom he was talking about. He did not name anyone in specific, and no one else has been charged.

Correa’s lawyer added that the correct course of action for Correa would have been to tell authorities.
