trading your best player and #2 pick for a bunch of role players doesn't sound like a good deal for the Lakers imho. LA needs superstars (even over-the-hill ones like Wade). They ain't winning shit anyway in the foreseeable future so anything that helps sell the tickets should be worth signing imho, and obviously the likes of Morris and Thorton wouldn't help that cause.

DMC wouldn't be a bad pick for the Lakers imho. Yes he has some personality issues and may turn out to be a ticking bomb in the locker room but he's still worth the risk, and he's also the only one available out there who can potentially bring some instant change to this Lakers team. Missing the playoffs three years in a row wouldn't do much good to the reputation of the Lakers who have such a long history of glory, tbh.
