Every team is "bought"... You think these guys are playing for free? You think we drafted Danny Green, Patty Mills, and Boris Diaw?

Weren't you one of the main people bitching and complaining throughout the playoffs? You must love misery.

NO.... They need to improve, that title team from 014 is over and it showed last year most of the season. They are two years older as well come playoff time, Manu will not be near the Manu he was in 014 and Parker has slowed down a few steps.

I'd be glad to get Aldridge, I really would.

But you'd have a hard time convincing me that LMA >>>>>> Tiago + Danny by a large margin.

Our bench is going to be dust and we'll have a hard time guarding anyone while Kawhi is on the bench.

LMA doesn't move the needle against OKC while losing DG burns. LMA doesn't move the needle against GSW while losing DG and Tiago will hurt. We'll miss the fuck out of Tiago against MEM. And if we're matched up against NOP that's basically a guaranteed series loss with LMA guarding AD.

But again, it would be exciting to get him just to see what happens. Compelling stuff.

Aldridge actually does help against OKC because he stretches the floor and keeps Ibaka from camping in the paint along with Adams or whoever.

Does that even out with getting absolutely crushed relentlessly by Westbrook/Durant in PnR with no Tiago?

They get gifted FTs all the time.. nobody is going to stop Westbrook or Durant.. The trick is to make Westbrook chunk all night and limit Durant. Tiago or no Tiago.

Short of trading everything that isn't nailed down, there's no scenario where we end up with Aldridge + Green, much less Splitter.

yeah i'm completely expecting splitter to be gone in any sort of scenario with LMA... but if they can bend through hoops to make it happen with green staying, we'd be instant favorites for 2015/2016 and imo by a healthy margin

i don't want Aldridge either. i think he's a loser. there's winners and unwritten story players that deserve more interest, imo.

Parker ~13
Green ~11
Leonard ~15
Aldridge ~18
Duncan ~5
Manu ~5

That's 67m right there. That's a 62m dollar starting 5 and a bench of Manu and spare parts, after trading Splitter, Diaw, Mills, and Anderson

losing Green and/or Splitter would be disastrous.

Thompson and Green are going to command about the same price tag same as Middleton.

i'd say that money would be better spent than it would be on Aldridge.

Middleton would be a redundant player who is not going to want to come off the bench. Thompson has almost zero offensive game not around the rim so he clogs the paint and offers minimal defensive support on the pick n roll. Green would be interesting but his attitude would drive Pop crazy

all winners, or unwritten stories. i know Aldridges story, and i don't want to see the last good bit of it come to San Antonio.

We'd have to if we want to keep Green. Could only offer minimum contracts to fill out the bench.

Can go over the cap to keep restricted players

Holt isn't going to spend 80 million dollars on a borderline contending NBA team. All I'm saying is if we get LMA there is almost no chance whatsoever we keep Green. Was responding to someone else.

Yeah, but a big part of that "built" is getting the #1 draft pick and one of the best players of all-time. So, good luck making that formula keep working.
