He's a sportswriter with access unlike any other in the NBA including the hacks that work for their TV network. I always found it intriguing that he could do it with a caustic personality. He is retributive towards franchises and they still come to him. Outside of those hatchet jobs, he sticks to facts. Twitter distills his reporting I guess.

I think he has that access precisely because of his "caustic personality." I remember that Woj from 5 or 6 years ago mostly just wrote take-down pieces of various teams or players (including the Spurs). And many of those articles were very influential. As of late however (and especially with the advent of Twitter), he has drifted more towards breaking insider news.

I don't think those two are unrelated. It's possible that teams, fearful of negative press from Woj, have been giving him insider access in exchange for positive press. We already know that this is exactly what happened with Joe Dumars.

I've been fairly critical myself of LeBron but now I realize it was mainly due to the 2013 Finals and then the rematch in 2014. All the criticism LeBron has had the mediots said the EXACT SAME THING about MJ before he started winning titles. For some reason LeBron is supposed to be exempt.
