Paying him around 12 probably isn't a bad risk for the Mavs, considering they're not contending with this current roster, anyways..

Mavs really need to find something at PG, though, it's going to hold them back once again..

Texas teams are the only teams that can't find a pg in the whole fucking league.

matthews is a better fit for dallas than green (assuming he's recovered).

#9 was pretty good a few years... Not last year though.

nigga's 3pt shooting would help us a lot, but still 12mil/yr for a role player seems a bit too much tbh. Why can't we just fill out our roster with minimums and tank? We ain't winning no fucking championship anyway (unless we somehow get LMA), and even LMA wouldn't be the best fit for Mavs tbh.

I don't know who is more retarded, Dallas offering a guy who will never be an elite defender again $12 million a year or Matthews for not taking that money and running. Portland just giving Aminu $7.5 million a season says a lot about where they think Matthews' career is headed.

Someone will end up giving him the 15 mill. I read that all of these wing FA, Green, Matthews etc, are all pointing to the Parsons and Hayward deals.

Yep. Like I posted in the Nets thread it's those deals that throw salaries out of wack ...in fact, I said that when Mavs signed Parsons and Utah paid Hayward.

I repeat it's dumb to pay non stars as stars. And this is ALL on the owners. I dont feel any sympathy for these dumbass owners who wanted to cap the max stars could get but yet overpaying solid starters as stars.

Just sign the vets instead, they'd be happy with 6-7m a year (like Pierce).

I think this move is just LMA oriented...no other reason to risk such a big amount of money for a player that can't be a sure thing 'cause of his tendon's issues...

Trading Calderon was stupid. He fit Carlise system perfectly.

But Matthews needs to swallow that 12 mil offer as teams want to test the waters before giving him a bigger deal. Such is life.
