View Full Version : Manu taken for granted by the franchise.

Manu is not invited to Aldridge pitch meeting. Manu doesn't get to play the fourth quarter and overtime of Game 7 versus Clips. Manu is blocked from playing for team Argentina last year.

Team just pencils him for the veterans minimum contract for next year of under $3m which is disgusting considering Aminu just got $30m over 4. Mike Dunleavy at age 35 just got $15m over 3.

The most disgusting is if Aldridge and Kawhi carry Tony to a championship in a few years, it'll be TIM - 5, TONY - 5, Manu - 4.

Already next year it will be a big 4 of TIM, TONY, KAWHI, ALDRIDGE.

Phil Jackson would gladly pay Manu with his BBALL IQ $9m for next year.

Evita needs to make the ultimate sacrifice and retire to allow Lamar signing.

Whether Manu was invited to the meeting or not, he's not going to fly 15+ hours each way just for lunch. Parker is flying in from China, but he doesn't have the family life that Manu has. If they need him to talk, they can Facetime or Skype.

If he plays this year on a small salary, expect it to be a 2-year contract where he'll be paid both years but only play the first year (which is just as good per playing year as the other players you mentioned).

:lmao Parker is married with children too.

Just because unlike Manu, Parker wears the pants in his family don't mean he's no family man. :lol

Manu benefitted from his $500 from HEB and Free Tacos from Henry Puffy Tacos. STFU already.

If Manu allows it, who can say it's wrong?

I lol'ed years ago when this was mentioned and I do now as well. Guys playing small parts on a team playing a kid's game making millions aren't going to retire for the good of the team. Don't be silly.

It's amazing that any Spurs fan would think that one of the most beloved players in the history of the Spurs franchise and an acknowledged cornerstone of so much success during his career -- a guy that Popovich has praised profusely, even when fans were cursing him -- is in any way taken for granted.

The money in 2015-16, if he plays, will be what it will be. When Manu is pulling in $3MM a year as the Spurs Vice President of South American Relations in 2025, everyone will be even.

Exactly, Manu fans always claim he is a victim of this and that and they do him wrong etc. He loves the Spurs org and they love him, stop bitching and enjoy the ride. Some are more sour than the man himself and then some.
player fans shhhhh

Worst fans ever IMO.

Clearly not an issue for Porker.

could possibly mean that the Spurs know Manu is retiring...why would they ask a retiring Manu to come talk about next years team...

Ginobili was not on the meeting because he has yet to decide if he wants to be a part of the team.
Had he been already decided he would.
