LMA doesn't want to play center! Duncan is too old to play center! The only player willing to sacrifice his body to play center is Matt Bonner.

Two low cost options I could see them pursuing in the event Aldridge does sign and they can't afford O'Quinn or someone of his caliber, are Plumlee and Freeland.

The former would require being traded for, but he's now fourth on the Bucks depth chart at C and I'd imagine they want to shed some salary/dump some bodies, so Williams' non guaranteed contract might get it done.

The latter they could just sign outright.

Everyone is undersized for a center position. The best player here is David West but he's like 35 years old.

The only other guy who is a legit center, but may come cheap is Javale McGee... but he's got zero IQ.

I think West is an upgrade. It is very curious that he opted out of his player option several weeks ago.

That's $12.5m he opted out from.... now he goes out in public to say he wants to play for either the Warriors or the Spurs. The Warriors still have zero cap space.... so maybe... just maybe is that this was Pop's play all along.

I mean, Danny Green seemed to be convinced that the Spurs are going to be getting some good pieces. I haven't seen any 'good pieces' sign yet.

Is his defense any worse than Aldridge? West is like 80% what Aldridge is... I'll take that for 1/4th the salary that Aldridge is demanding.

I like Deandre. He has glaring holes in his game, but it does a few things for us.

1. Its gives us inside defense to go along with our amazing wing defense.
2. It nullifies the 2 teams that are our threats. The Rockets and Clippers.
3. Hes young and energetic. To go along with Tim who will slow down again this year

If Spurs are real desperate for, consider:

Andre Blatche
Javale McGee

both have enough lateral movement to cover the pick and roll.

The center position in the nba isn't that hard to play now. You're not gonna face a shaq, ewing, olojuwon, smits, mutombo, or mourning every other night. This isn't 1995.

I think Mcgee's mistakes are overblown with the whole Shaqtin a fool shit. Yeah he does dumb shit, but people that don't watch games swear every time he touches he ball he's either turning it over or doing something stupid. He just needs to be in the right environment. You'd be amazed how a change of scenery and being around the right people will change someone's career around. Look at stephen jackson in san antonio vs stephen jackson everywhere else. Shit look at Rodman in Detroit vs Rodman everywhere else. He still did great things on the court in chicago, but they media didnt blow it up as they did everywhere else because they wanted jordan to keep winning so his punishments weren't as severe. had he kciked that cameraman while playing for the spurs, he would have been out for the season probably.

We will have a good amount of cap space without Aldridge (assuming Tim/Manu don't ask for more since LMA ain't coming in this scenario) and imo a nice plan B would be West and Kofous along with a backup SF for cheap like Prince, Casspi, or maybe even Gerald Green.
