Obvious answer is obvious. Missing on Kidd cost us nothing. 3 titles after that, one Finals MVP for Parker, nbd. Missing out on Aldridge plus the departure of Splitter could slam Duncan's title window shut for good.

Kidd was always a longshot due to how much more money NJ could give him. Plus it wasn't clear whether he would have fit with Parker and Manu ready to become stars.

In 2003, I was more pissed that PJ Brown turned down the Spurs and then they had to settle for Rasho and Hedo.
