I think there may be more truth to that than you know. A friend called from Phoenix to give me hell last night. They really thought they had him. He's hip-deep in local politics, so when the phone rang, I was sure there had already been an announcement, and LMA was going to be going there.

He says that they were selling Aldridge on the Suns being his team, and that the Spurs have already said that Kawhi is the future of the Spurs. I don't know - but I do know he wouldn't have made that call if HE didn't believe it. And he was gloating like a jackass. I think Pop's visit may have been exactly what got the deal over the hump.
