To be honest, this is fucked up. Lakers are going to be bad for another 2 to 3 years. They'll soon realize Los Angeles doesn't have the appeal it had 10 or so years ago. Most of all, these guys are getting paid millions and much more with business investments as well as endorsements. Lakers fans shall rot for a while and finally be humbled to no end through impulse decision by their front office.

tlongII - no joke, I know this sucks. You don't know jack about basketball, but you're a good fan. I'm sure it's especially annoying it's the Spurs, but what are your thoughts on building around Lillard?

So many articles (some pro-Lillard, some pro-LMA) coming out now - really harping on either LMA having an ego or POR really messing up by hitching their cart to Lillard when he's not really been that great.

Why would so many of the players leave if Lillard is still there and they trust the FO?

I know more about hoops than anybody on this site. We're going to suck for a year or two, but we'll be back. Good luck with Aldridge. You're going to need it.

Things will change as soon as the sociopath retires, assuming he doesn't take over as GM

Interesting. So I take it you aren't really upset about LMA leaving and think Lillard is the right piece to build around? Why do you think Wes & Robin & Afflalo all left too, despite POR having money and Lillard still being there?

Where is "back"? 1st round exit again being your golden standard?

What? Afflalo got a really fair deal and so did Lopez. Sure Wes made money, but if he were fully healthy that would be his price.

Three starters left of their own volition and a fourth was traded... More starters abandoned Lillard in one season then have left Tim Duncan in his entire career....

Wrong.

Overpaid on a PG and then lost LMA.

Lillard could still back out. You can't sign till the 9th. Portland should afford him that opportunity.

Thong is right the Blazers will be back in a few years. People thought they were fucked when Brandon Roy's knee failed, or when Greg Oden turned out to be a flop, but they still managed to come back featuring Lillard and LMA (who's now a spur). They would've probably won multiple championships already had they drafted Durant in 07 instead of Oden tbh.

I don't know any of the inside story, but it looks awfully suspicious when a young "centerpiece" is signed to a long term contract and 4 of his teammates all decide to leave...

You always fancied yourself so high & mighty. Now who's got Tom Barkley's balls?

Yeah, that's what I thought.

blazers just like the pacers, got rid 4 of its starters....in the end what for?

wouldnt it better to stick to it for another few more seasons to be playoff bound, then relying on rebuilding around a ballhog pg
