Sour grapes. However, if true, the maturity of the Spurs players will rub off - and LM just might grow up a bit. A win-win for all.

Yea you think Pop would put with that. I don't think so! R.C and the guys know exactly what they're getting and I'm sure by now LMA want nothing other but to win rings. That's why we brought him here.

Perhaps LMA was slighted. Doesn't change the fact he was probably wrong for acting like he did at times. But that is a flaw for both team and player that is now gone.
Building around Lillard is mistake and it's mistake to not manage ego's - especially when you are riding the marketing aspect vs basketball which is what POR did.
Hopefully those issue are gone here - winning cures a lot.

Sour grapes article. Every guy who could leave did leave. I think that says a lot about their view of Lillard as a leader. If they thought Aldridge was the problem, wouldn't they have stayed to be on Lillard's team?

With none of the other Spurs acting like a spoiled baby, there will be enough social pressure to put a stop to that type of behavior.

I'm glad he's gone. $107 million is way too steep for regular-season dunks, regular-season highlight blocks, regular-season rebounds that he doesn't know how to box out for, and nothing else.

Yet, I assume that you wanted him to be a Spur. I also assume that if LA is a prima donna, that the players and coaches are already know about this - and will do a work around. Also, don't discount the effect of other, presumed more mature players on the team (Duncan, Manu, etc) to help LM modify his behavior, if needed. It's all about the team now and LM has bought into that concept.

Per the biased article:
"If there was a nick, a bump, or a bruise, Aldridge always wanted an MRI, prompting one former staffer to quip it was a good thing owner Paul Allen was rich enough to cover the frequent expense."
If that's true looks like ST posters will get a kick now that TP and LMA will be the best of buddies.

I agree, his game was fed off Pauls penetration and he got easy putbacks and dunks because of that. He will miss Paul at the PG position, book it.

Seriously, this idea that Lillard is pure and team-first while LMA was selfish and insecure is ludicrous. I'm not saying that LMA didn't get a bruised ego, but the fact remains that he was, is and will be a better player than Lillard. It's absurd to make Damian the face of the franchise. They'll get tank city for years if he's their best player. That Aldridge was willing to join a team where he won't even be in the top-three most adored players on the roster is telling about his need to have the spotlight.

Very subjective. The spurs are run differently. Sometimes you just need to be surrounded by people who will put you in check.

He doesn't care about Duncan staying with the team which means he can be a team player ..he knew the fans are loyal to Duncan, Manu for years.then now Kawhi, still he signs.
Good news is, he just joined a team of players with zero ego, (it's contagious, he'll be a changed man in a year).
If Duncan will retire next season, (he has Pop's assurance in their 2nd meeting in LA), that he'll be the centerpiece. I think Leonard wouldn't mind..this kid will just go play... for the DPOY on his own silent way...he'd be happy see LMA to do all the talking. ..

If I say it's only bitterness I'd lying. All those meetings, second meetings, the kobe 'didn't gel' made it clear. Aldridge is a primadonna. But I've read several articles, comments and twits about him being a smart guy. Probably he will figure quickly the spurs have a different phylosophy and will adapt to it. Or he will ask o be traded after the end of the first season in SAS.

Pathetic hit-piece in many ways.
And btw this is only a positive thing since it means he'll be cooperative and understanding whenever Pop is super careful and rest/sit him.
If there was a nick, a bump, or a bruise, Aldridge always wanted an MRI, prompting one former staffer to quip it was a good thing owner Paul Allen was rich enough to cover the frequent expense.
Until this season, when he postponed a surgery on his non-shooting hand to help the Blazers make a playoff push, Aldridge was constantly looking for a reason to sit out games, particularly if it was after his status as an All-Star had been cemented that season.

Someone cherry picked some stories that came out to fit the narrative for Spurs fans who had to wait 48 hours for a free agent decision that Lamarcus reportedly had made several days before free agency started. Lamarcus will get all the credit and all the praise he wants in San Antonio just for being one of the guys and playing smart, winning basketball.
