Same here. Was in 8th grade in his rookie season and he instantly became one of my favorite players.

When I was six years old, my parents took me to Robinson's first game for the Spurs - against the Lakers in the old Hemisfair. Been a Spurs fan ever since, and what an amazing fan experience it's been.

Same. Most talented Spurs player of All-Time though not quite the best (TD of course). But how many more rings would he have had if he had prime Manu and TP during his prime?

Yep, mid 90s, moving back to Central Texas and the Admiral were the reasons I became a Spursfan.

Here as well. I became a Spurs fan because of DRob.

There used to be a video on YouTube of David's full highlights from that game. Dude was a straight legend. There's no one in the league today who compares as far as athleticism and skill-set go.

David was a 7-1 man who could do handstands (one handed, walking, all kinds) and backflips. Amazing. Only comparable athlete ever to play center in the NBA was Wilt, who was a track champion in sprinting, high jump and shotput. As well as HOFer in volleyball. Shaq(before he got fat) and Hakeem were really quick, but not the all around athletes of Wilt or David.

I still remember when Robinson arrived with a trim waist and frickin huge guns, a class act all the way. The guy is greatness.

My favorite player ever and the reason I'm a Spurs fan. He was also an influence in me joining the Navy. I saw him at a Heat Spurs game in Miami and he is as class act as it gets. Why he's left off top 5 all time center lists is BEYOND ME.

I still remember Sportscenter the morning after his 71. Such a memorable moment, and his quadruple double.

This, and he's also the reason I play and love basketball. He inspired me to learn to play back in 1990. And I got to meet him in 2007. Up close, he radiates calm and positivity. A truly great man.

Putting the opposite-handedness aside, Anthony Davis shows flashes of a similar game to DRob, but he's nowhere near the athelete... no-one is!

He played in the toughest era to be a center and was a stud. You put Dave against Dwight Coward and these bums, he would eat them
