Manu only shot 42% last year. My sources have informed me that Pop is over in some bath - house in Greece trying to coax Manu out of retirement.

Lakers must have a plan to trade either Nick or sell high on Clarkson. Don't see Russell, Kobe, Clarkson all gettin PT but then again, they're probably expecting Kobe to miss a lot of games next season.

So you're in favor of signing a 6'1" shooting guard for 3 years? That just means less minutes for Clarkson at SG, which I thought is the position you wanted him at after Kirby retires.

Also, Williams isn't a terrible player and makes the Lakers slightly better, meaning you might win too many games next season and lose your top 3 pick.

Bizarre move, imo.

Clarkson is severely overrated. He's not part of the the Lakers future. He put up great numbers for a lottery team. Just like Meeks. Just like Ellington.

Lakers should sell high and trade him.

7/21 is a helluva bargain.

Yeah, but he needs minutes to make a good impression. No team is going to bite on a player who is losing minutes to a rookie PG and Lou Williams.

And I don't think any team bites this off-season, for the reasons you mentioned.

Danny Green was the 4th best SG in the league this season. His defense is lockdown. Lou is a net negative defender and shot 31% in the playoffs :lol Patty Mills had a strong playoff campaign and is a World Champion.

He's better than the fatboy we have a PG, though. No arguments there.

He is a better version of Nick Young, tbh, not a bad signing..

Raptors fans loved him at first, hated him by the end of the year..really good volume scorer, but atrocious defensively and terrible shot selection..

Lakers will now be good enough to miss out on their top 3 pick, but won't even sniff the playoffs..hopefully for them, this season will simply be about Kobe playing his final year..

3 years, $21 million is a pretty good deal for Williams. The Lakers badly need talent to try to convince players to come next offseason. Being in the #2 media market in the nation isn't a big enough draw anymore for them now that they have shitty ownership, but if Russell and Randle can impress next season they might have a shot at Durant and Horford once they can cut the line on that $48.5 million anchor keeping them down.

Danny Green isn't a scorer. He's a 3 and D guy, which every team needs to have in the modern NBA. Patty Mills is basically the same player as Lou Williams with a much better 3 point shot. Mills led all Olympic scorers, I believe. Guy can score when the reigns are taken off, but he has to play second fiddle to the fatboy, so he never gets a chance to shine.

Lou isn't a bad player, the signing just puzzles me. He makes you good enough to give away your lottery pick but not good enough to make the playoffs (same with Hibbert). The Lakers should've just signed D-Leaguers after they missed out on their FA targets.

Therein likes the problem with the Lakers FO mentality. No chance Durant chooses them over staying with Thunder or heading to Washington to play with John Wall and the youth movement the Wizards have, who will be playoff seasoned by that time and Durant will perceived as the missing piece they need to make it to the Finals.

The Lakers just need to stack lotto picks for the next 2 or 3 seasons.

Not buying it. He took most of his shots from downtown. His true shooting percentage is 56.4%. His PPP? Highest on ISO plays amongst all players with 100+ possessions (even higher than the Kang). On spot ups, he is top 5 league wide. And he generated 5 freebies per game.

Speaking on Tim and Sid on Sportsnet on Monday, Williams admitted he was “kind of a little disappointed I wasn’t allowed to stay in Toronto, but things happen, you move forward.”

Williams said he even offered the Raptors a chance to match the Lakers deal, but Masai Ujiri and Co. told him to take the offer.

“I think the playoffs just left a sour taste in everybody’s mouths,” Williams said, before adding, “we were all disappointed with how the playoffs ended. When things like that happen, you don’t know what to expect. I really wanted to be a part of what they were building there.”
