You're right. If its at Young's expense, I'm all in either way.

Lakers either have $2.8 million for Brandon Bass - room exception - or they are clearing cap via other moves

RT though, Bass is a nice signing for what they should have left, and if he's a RE signing then it's a steal and he should shoot his agent.

Terrible move. Lakers are filling out there roster with too many decent players that won't be good enough to make the playoffs, but just good enough to win 30ish games, meaning pick is going to Philly.

Lakers have to lose more than 66 games to secure a Top 3. Not happening. I'd rather accumulate cheap assets now for trade pieces if the opportunity comes up. Hinkie can pick his 12-15 pick from tis draft.

It's top 3 protected. No way we get lucky 3 years in a row.

We we gotta win some games to make FAs want to come here again. Who wants to come to a lotto team with a bunch of rookies? Especially if they rang chasing?

The sweetest part? If you give up your '16 pick, you get your '17. But your '18 is also shipped out :lol

The point is you don't have to jettison/unload/trade/waive anyone if you want your undrafted pothead Upshaw to have a roster spot, Geraldo

Run Kobe up there and Clarkson to point. Then Williams to SG. You can't start Russell. You can't do it. They'll target him and beat him to death. 15 minutes a night vs second string. Where's the fire?

True. The protection is just too high to risk tanking a whole season. The percentage in winning #3 and #4 are too close (15.6% vs 10.4%). The Lakers are in a tough position and purposely tanking for a high pick only to end up in Philly would be stupid.

Agreed. B Scott said he'll have to earn his keep. If he starts, it means he is our best option at PG.

I'm interested in seeing our guard play. They all seem interchangeable. I do think Williams and Clarkson will add a speed element we haven't seen since NVE and (rookie) Kobe.

No cheap asset the Lakers have acquired can be really be used as a trade chip going forward.

Hibbert is on a one year contract, and plays a style of game that is behind the times. It's why the Pacers had no problem letting him go.

Brandon Bass is on the downside of his career. He was a net negative player this season.

I guess Lou Williams can be used as an asset, but I think he's in the Lakers "4 year plan." And even if he would be used a trade piece, you won't get much for an undersized SG who shoots 40%.

The Lakers should be stacking lotto picks, like the Thunder and Wiz did once-upon-a-time.

Lou is cheap. 6MOTY may not mean much but if JR Smith can get a team like Cleveland's attention, I have no doubt Williams too.

Hibbert is a huge expiring. Expirings could always serve as valuable "Get of Jail Card" in trade deadlines.

You need to build both in draft and acquiring assets through free agency. I just don't support "tanking" this year given the fact the Lakers could lose it. I'd rather see a positive wheel in motion and see how far it takes them.
