I was listening to a podcast the other day that was mocking the Lakers' for still living in the past and utilizing an antiquated front office model, and all these transactions outside of drafting Russell validate that, tbh:lol..

Yep.

Roy Hibbert. A dinosaur and an overall net negative player this season. His marginal defensive impact is easy to neutralize with a stretch big.

Brandon Bass. Shittier version of Ed Davis. But at least they got him cheap. Also a net negative player this season.

Lou Williams. Undersized SG who relies on isolation play. Shot 31% in the playoffs. Surprisingly, a net positive player.

But the Lakers roster was such garbage last year, these players actually improve the team :lol But they improve it too much, so that the Lakers will likely lose their lottery pick.

LMA shot 33% in the playoffs.

LMA shot 33% in the playoffs.

Tuned out because he was tired of Lillard.

Didn't you see LMA torch Houston in last year's playoffs? And with him in Pop's system, watch out.

Too bad you're a welcher or I'd bet you up that the Lakers don't win more than 40 this year.

Lol FatParker shitting on the Lakers' star free agent in Tony's cancer year.

I can see where Laker fan says this is the best offseason they have had. When they sign
no name free agents but get Roy in a trade it has to be a good year. YUP...LA things are looking up!

Good luck with Paul Pierce next year

Rookie of the Year Russ
Big Hib
6th Man Lou
Bass

We dump swaggy and I'm good.

We actually did very well..I'm really proud of how Mitch went to work after the Buss kids debacle....dude is a very good GM when he's doing his thing....having those Vets around our young guys is very important for their growth and development...Brandon Bass is a stud....dude is a workhorse and I'm told hasnt missed a game in 3 yrs..he should be a good influence on our big guys...,

Roy Hibbert is good friends with Tammy and works out with him in the summer..so I'm sure he will be rejuvenated from leaving the, toxic environment in Indy.....

And Lou fucking Williams....6th man of the year and is a starter...i hear he's very serious as a player and is a very tough player to guard....these were actually huge sigings for us none of witch I expected tbh.....now we have to see how good our rookies will be...I think people are sleeping on Nance Jr.and Brown....Brown is a stud who shoots over 40% from 3....

I'm now excited about our team...if this is Kobes last run at least they're giving him a somewhat balanced team...if we can add one more vet for the min...then good...I'm even for keeping Boozer at this point for the min...and adding one more vet big man....I also think we should keep Swaggy....he's a diferent player with Kobe on the court and he would bolster scoring from the bench....Swaggy his better than Manu and Parker so he alone is worth keeping....Kobe give him a,chance to play with this group...

Also its vital that we keep Nash around...his vet presence and asistance with our rookies will be awesome..I'm even for making Nash an assitant ccoach.....

It was a good offseason Luva..but I'm told Mitch is not done yet...we're clearly not tanking this sseason for another pick and to be honest...Spur fan is nervous as fuck....trying to emotionally hide behind the LMA signing but LMA cant cover for Manu, Tony, and Tammy who are all old and slow as fuck..they had their run..and now their decline begins....its a long season..mark my words..mid and dmc doing their best to spin in every direction they can..

Lets now sit back and enjoy our summer league.....speaking of summer league check out the votes these guys got on who people want to see..man I hope this kid turns up..hope he's our savior....I dont want the next Kobe I want him to be the next Magic..

Poll asking which of five rookies are the NBA fans looking to see most in Summer League. The current results after almost 75,000 votes? Our Laker rookie has more votes than the other four players combined.

The only problem I have with the Lakers off-season so far was losing Ed Davis. LMA would not have helped us in the near future. Mitch and the front office did a great job in the draft and picking up quality vets on the cheap. No complaints.

No matter how it turns out Midst has covered his chickenshit ass.

Typical.

Tarik Black is a better player than Davis. Mitch just played chess while everyone else is playing checkers. Notice how the mantra with the haters/media has gone from us not getting LMA to us now possibly missing out on our lottery pick next season. What Mitch realizes is there is more than one way to skin a cat. He cashed in on the oppurtunity to build our roster to attract big names like Durant for next year. He elimanted that excuse for not wanting to play in LA due to not having solid role players. Now the role players are in place. Next... Kobe's contract comes off the book. This will give us a chance to land two big names next year.

Hibbert, Lou, and Bass are good role players on any team. Great pickups for our squad while our youngins Russ, Randle, and Black can learn coming off the bench. This is the most versatile team Kobe's ever played on. This team will surprise folks... but not me. We're making the playoffs with this squad... and splits owes me a hooker.

I was listening to a podcast the other day that was mocking the Lakers' for still living in the past and utilizing an antiquated front office model, and all these transactions outside of drafting Russell validate that, tbh:lol..

The drafting of Russell was the ultimate "living in the past" move. They were certain because they were the Lakers that they would be able to sign either Aldridge or Jordan, probably both, so why draft a big? If they knew that they were going to do so poorly in FA they likely would have drafted Okafor. Simply a another miscalculation on their part.

That's true, actually, I was just thinking about it from a basketball perspective..teams of the past virtually always chose the big in that spot..

2013: Lose Dwight Howard, shunned by all top tier FA
2014: Lose Pau Gasol, shunned by all top tier FA
2015: Shunned by all top tier FA

This has been the best year in recent memory for the Lakers.

Ok... so thats three years we've struck out. You've struck out every single time except for this year. And in your best year we still landed more talent than you did.

Marco, Cujo... and the other whiteboy will not be trumped by the addition of LMA. You still have some work to do with no cash available. Jim is still in need of a contract. Manu is floating down a lazy river... and the fact is... your team is nowhere near the team that won it. They had a fluke season and I called it by declaring you wouldn't even come close to defending your title even though you went out of your way to boast of bringing every player back from your title team.

When we "struck out" in the past it was almost always because we didn't have enough cap space, so it was a matter of taking less money to play for the Spurs. This is the first FA since Jason Kidd that the Spurs have really gone after with equal money. Big difference.

How do you figure you ended up with more talent than the Spurs this year? We resigned our top FA's and added arguably the top FA available. The Lakers have signed more bodies, but that doesn't mean more talent.
