With Manu returning, doesn't it seem plausible that he'd try to convince his old buddy Luis to finally play beside him for one last run at it together in the NBA? It's just the sort of thing the Spurs would do, too, now when few people are expecting it.

Would prefer West, but Scola wouldn't be a terrible plan B. Still doesn't solve the problem of us having no rim protectors outside of Duncan, though. Well Aldridge is actually a really solid rim protector, but unfortunately he doesn't like playing C so yeah...

I'd rather West too, but give me Scola over Boozer any day of the week.

:lolMaybe for a few minutes a game, in a pinch, Kawhi can do his best Magic Johnson impersonation and play center.

I know LMA doesn't like playing C, but that's against big beefy traditional centers like Mozgov, Howard, Bogut, etc... I imagine when playing against small ball line ups, he wouldn't mind guarding a Draymond Green type...

Scola's PER and +/- were significantly better than Bonner's last season.

He did record career highs in DREB% and free throw rate last season, so it seems that he still has something left in the tank. It would be cool to see him team up with Manu.

I like West too, but every year I read stories about vets willing to "take a pay cut" to win. It rarely happens. Accepting $6mil instead $8 mil is one thing, but playing for $2mil... well, I just don't think it's likely. I hope I'm wrong...

Gotta give it up to Dan Gilbert for money he's spending ... AND give it up to David West for the money he's leaving on the table to go to SA
